ଅପସଂବେଦନ ବା ପାରେସ୍ଥେସିଆ, ଇଂରାଜୀରେ ପିନ୍ ଏବଂ ଛୁଞ୍ଚି (pins and needles) ମଧ୍ୟ କୁହାଯାଏ, ରୋଗରେ ଝିମିଝିମି ଲାଗେ, ଜଳିବା କିମ୍ବା କାଲୁଆ ଅନୁଭବ ହୋଇପାରେ | ^[୧] ଅଳ୍ପ କେତେକ ରୋଗୀଙ୍କର ଥଣ୍ଡା କିମ୍ବା କିଛି ଗୋଟିଏ ଘୁଷୁରୁ ଥିବା (କ୍ରଲ୍) ଅନୁଭବ ପାଉଥିବା ବର୍ଣ୍ଣନା କରାଯାଇପାରେ | ^[୩] ଚର୍ମ ସ୍ପର୍ଶ ନକରି ଏହି ଲକ୍ଷଣମାନ ଘଟେ | ^[୩] ଏହା ଶରୀରର ଯେ କୌଣସି ସ୍ଥାନରେ ହୋଇପାରେ, ସାଧାରଣତଃ ବାହୁ ଏବଂ ଗୋଡ଼ ପ୍ରଭାବିତ ହୋଇଥାଏ | ^[୧] ଏହା ଏକ ସଂକ୍ଷିପ୍ତ କିମ୍ବା ଦୀର୍ଘ ସମୟ ଧରି ହୋଇପାରେ | ^[୧]

ଚିକିତ୍ସା ମୂଳ କାରଣ ଉପରେ ନିର୍ଭର କରେ | ^[୧] ଗମ୍ଭୀରତାର ଉନ୍ନତି ପାଇଁ ପ୍ରୟାସରେ କ୍ୟାପସାଇସିନ୍ କ୍ରିମ୍, କାର୍ବାମାଜେପାଇନ୍ କିମ୍ବା ଗାବାପେଣ୍ଟିନ୍ ଦିଅଯାଇପାରେ | ^[୪] ଏହି ଶବ୍ଦଟି ଗ୍ରୀକ୍ "ପାରା"ର ଅର୍ଥ ପାର୍ଶ୍ୱବର୍ତ୍ତୀ "ଆସ୍ଥେସିସ୍" ଅର୍ଥାତ୍ ସ୍ପର୍ଶ | ^[୩] ଡିସ୍‌ଥେସିଆ ଶବ୍ଦର ସମାନ ଅର୍ଥ ଅଛି; ଅବଶ୍ୟ, ଏହା ସ୍ପର୍ଶ କରିବା ସମୟରେ ଅନୁଭବ କଲେ କେତେକ ଲୋକ ଏହାକୁ ବ୍ୟବହାର କରନ୍ତି ଓ ଏହା ଅସ୍ୱାଭାବିକ ସମ୍ବେଦନଶୀଳ ହୋଇଥାଏ | ^[୫]
