ଡେସଭେନଲାଫାକ୍ସିନର ସାଧାରଣ ପାର୍ଶ୍ୱ ପ୍ରତିକ୍ରିୟାରେ ମୁଣ୍ଡ ଓଜନିଆ, ନିଦ୍ରା ସମସ୍ୟା (trouble sleeping), ଅଧିକ ଝାଳ ବୋହିବା, କାଷ୍ଠକାଠିନ୍ୟ, ନିଦ୍ରାଳୁ ଭାବ, ଉଦ୍‌ବେଗ ଓ ଯୌନ ସମସ୍ୟା ହୋଇପାରେ ।^[୧] ପ୍ରତିକ୍ରିୟା ସାଂଘାତିକ ହେଲେ ଆତ୍ମହତ୍ୟା ପ୍ରବଣ ବିଶେଷତଃ ୨୬ ବର୍ଷ ବୟସରୁ କମ୍ ଥିଲେ, ସେରୋଟୋନିନ ସିଣ୍ଡ୍ରୋମ, ରକ୍ତସ୍ରାବ, ମାନିଆ (mania) ଓ ଉଚ୍ଚ ରକ୍ତଚାପ ହୋଇପାରେ । ^[୧] ଔଷଧ ନେବାର ମାତ୍ରା ଶୀଘ୍ର କମେଇଦେଲେ ଉଇଥଡ୍ରଆଲ ସିଣ୍ଡ୍ରୋମ ହୋଇପାରେ ।^[୧] ଗର୍ଭାବସ୍ଥା ଓ ସ୍ତନ୍ୟପାନ ସମୟରେ ଏହାର ନିରାପତ୍ତା ସ୍ପଷ୍ଟ ହୋଇନାହିଁ ।^[୩] ଏହା ସେରୋଟୋନିନ-ନରଏପିନେଫ୍ରିନ ରିଅପଟେକ ଇନହିବିଟର serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor/ SNRI) ଶ୍ରେଣୀର ଏହା ଅବସାଦରୋଧୀ (antidepressant) ଔଷଧ । ^[୧]
