ବେଞ୍ଜାଇଲପେନିସିଲିନ (ଇଂରାଜୀ ଭାଷାରେ Benzylpenicillin ଅନ୍ୟ ନାମ ପେନିସିଲିନ ଜି/penicillin G) ଏକ ଆଣ୍ଟିବାୟୋଟିକ (antibiotic) ଯାହା ଅନେକ ଜୀବାଣୁ ସଂକ୍ରମଣର (bacterial infections) ଚିକିତ୍ସାରେ ବ୍ୟବ‌ହାର କରାଯାଏ । ଏହି ସଂକ୍ରମଣ ଗୁଡ଼ିକର ନାମ ନିମୋନିଆ, ସ୍ଟ୍ରେପ ଥ୍ରୋଟ (strep throat), ସିଫିଲିସ୍, ନେକ୍ରୋଟାଇଜିଙ୍ଗ ଏଣ୍ଟେରୋକୋଲାଇଟିସ (necrotizing enterocolitis), କଣ୍ଠଅଳତି, ଗ୍ୟାସ ଗାନ୍ଗ୍ରିନ (gas gangrene), ଲେପ୍ଟୋସ୍ପାଇରୋସିସ (leptospirosis), ସେଲ୍ୟୁଲାଇଟିସ (cellulitis), ଓ ଟେଟାନସ (tetanus) ନିମୋକୋକାଲ ମେନିଞ୍ଜାଇଟିସ (pneumococcal meningitis) ରୋଗ ନିମନ୍ତେ ଏହା ପ୍ରଧାନ ଔଷଧ ।^[୨] ଏହି ଔଷଧ ଶିରାଭ୍ୟନ୍ତର (injection into a vein) ବା ମାଂସପେଶୀରେ (muscle) ଇଞ୍ଜେକସନ ଆକାରରେ ଦିଆଯାଏ ।^[୧] ଏହି ଔଷଧ ଦୁଇ ଆକାରରେ ମିଳେ ଯଥା:- ବେଞ୍ଜାଥିନ ବେଞ୍ଜାଇଲପେନିସିଲିନ (benzathine benzylpenicillin) ଓ ପ୍ରୋକେନ ବେଞ୍ଜାଇଲପେନିସିଲିନ (procaine benzylpenicillin) ଯାହା ମାଂସପେଶୀରେ ଦିଆଯାଏ । ^[୨]

ଏହାର ପାର୍ଶ୍ୱ ପ୍ରତିକ୍ରିୟାରେ ତରଳ ଝାଡ଼ା, ବାତ (seizures), ଓ ଆନାଫାଇଲାକ୍‌ସିସ ଭଳି ଆଲର୍ଜି ପ୍ରତିକ୍ରିୟା (allergic reaction) ଦେଖାଯାଏ । ଏହି ଔଷଧ ଦେଇ ସିଫିଲିସ ରୋଗର ଚିକିତ୍ସା କଲାବେଳେ ଏକ ପ୍ରତିକ୍ରିୟା ଦେଖାଯାଇ ପାରେ ଯାହାର ନାମ ଜାରିସ-ହେର୍କ୍ସ‌ହାଇମର (Jarisch-Herxheimer) । ପେନିସିଲିନ ଆଲର୍ଜି (penicillin allergy) ଥିବା ରୋଗୀଙ୍କୁ ଏହା ଦିଆଯାଏ ନାହିଁ ।^[୨] ଗର୍ଭାବସ୍ଥାରେ ଏହା ସାଧାରଣତଃ ନିରାପଦ ଥାଏ ।^[୧] ଏହା ପେନିସିଲିନ (penicillin) ଓ ବିଟା ଲାକ୍ଟମ (beta lactam) ଶ୍ରେଣୀର ଏକ ଔଷଧ ।^[୨]

ସନ ୧୯୨୯ରେ ବେଞ୍ଜାଇଲପେନିସିଲିନ ଆବିଷ୍କୃତ ହେବା ପରେ ସନ ୧୯୪୨ରୁ ଡାକ୍ତରୀ ବ୍ୟବ‌ହାରରେ ଲାଗିଲା ।^[୩] ଏହାର ନାମ ବିଶ୍ୱ ସ୍ୱାସ୍ଥ୍ୟ ସଂଗଠନର ଅତ୍ୟାବଶ୍ୟକୀୟ ଔଷଧ ଚିଠାରେ (World Health Organization's List of Essential Medicines) ଅଛି ଯାହା ମୌଳିକ ସ୍ୱାସ୍ଥ୍ୟ ସିସ୍ଟମ (health system) ନିମନ୍ତେ ଅତି ମହତ୍ତ୍ୱପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ।^[୪] ବିକାଶଶୀଳ ଦେଶମାନଙ୍କରେ (developing world) ଏହାର ହୋଲସେଲ ମୂଲ୍ୟ ଦିନ‌କୁ ପ୍ରାୟ ୦.୨୪ରୁ ୨.୭୨ ଆମେରିକୀୟ ଡଲାର ।^[୫] ଯୁକ୍ତରାଷ୍ଟ୍ର ଆମେରିକାରେ ଏହାର ଏକ କୋର୍ଷର ମୂଲ୍ୟ ପ୍ରାୟ ୧୦୦ରୁ ୨୦୦ ଡଲାର ।^[୬]
