କର୍ଟିସୋଲ ବା ହାଇଡ୍ରୋକର୍ଟିଜୋନ (ଇଂରାଜୀ ଭାଷାରେ Hydrocortisone) ହେଉଛି ଏକ ହରମୋନ୍‌ର ନାମ ।^[୨] ବ୍ୟବହାରରେ ଆଡ୍ରେନାଲ୍ ଅଭାବ, ଆଡ୍ରେନୋଜେନିଟାଲ୍ ସିଣ୍ଡ୍ରୋମ, ଉଚ୍ଚ ରକ୍ତ କ୍ୟାଲସିୟମ୍ ସ୍ତର, ଥାଇରଏଡାଇଟିସ୍, ରିଉମାଟଏଡ ଆର୍ଥ୍ରାଇଟିସ୍, ଡର୍ମାଟାଇଟିସ୍, ଆଜମା ଏବଂ କ୍ରନିକ ଅବ୍‌ସ୍ଟ୍ରକ୍ଟିଭ୍ ପଲ୍‌ମୋନାରି ଡିଜିଜ ଭଳି ରୋଗମାନଙ୍କରେ ଏହା ବ୍ୟବ‌ହୃତ ହୁଏ । ^[୧] ଆଡ୍ରେନୋକର୍ଟିକାଲ୍ ଅଭାବ ପାଇଁ ଏହା ପସନ୍ଦ ଯୋଗ୍ୟ ଚିକିତ୍ସା ।^[୩] ଏହା ପାଟିରେ, ସ୍ଥାନୀୟ କିମ୍ବା ଇଞ୍ଜେକସନଦ୍ୱାରା ଦିଆଯାଇପାରେ ।^[୧] ଦୀର୍ଘକାଳୀନ ବ୍ୟବହାର ପରେ ଧୀରେ ଧୀରେ ଚିକିତ୍ସା ବନ୍ଦ କରିବା କରାଯିବା ଉଚିତ୍ ।^[୧]

ପାର୍ଶ୍ୱ ପ୍ରତିକ୍ରିୟାରେ ମନୋଭାବର ପରିବର୍ତ୍ତନ, ଅଧିକ ସଂକ୍ରମଣର ଆଶଙ୍କା ଏବଂ ଫୁଲା ହୋଇପାରେ ।^[୧] ଦୀର୍ଘକାଳୀନ ବ୍ୟବହାର କରିବା ପରେ ସାଧାରଣ ପାର୍ଶ୍ୱ ପ୍ରତିକ୍ରିୟାରେ ଓଷ୍ଟିଓପୋରୋସିସ, ଉଦର ଯନ୍ତ୍ରଣା, ଶାରୀରିକ ଦୁର୍ବଳତା, ସହଜରେ କ୍ଷତ ଏବଂ ଖମୀର ସଂକ୍ରମଣ ହୋଇପାରେ ।^[୧] ବ୍ୟବହୃତ ହେଉଥିବାବେଳେ ଏହା ଗର୍ଭାବସ୍ଥାରେ ସୁରକ୍ଷିତ କି ନାହିଁ ତାହା ଅସ୍ପଷ୍ଟ ଅଛି ।^[୪] ହାଇଡ୍ରୋକୋର୍ଟିଜୋନ ହେଉଛି ଏକ ଗ୍ଲୁକୋକର୍ଟିକଏଡ ଓ ଏହା ଏକ ଆଣ୍ଟି-ଇନ୍‌ଫ୍ଲାମେଟୋରୀ ଯାହା ପ୍ରତିରକ୍ଷା ଦମନ କରି କାର୍ଯ୍ୟକ୍ଷମ ହୁଏ ।^[୧]

୧୯୩୬ ମସିହାରେ ହାଇଡ୍ରୋକର୍ଟିଜୋନ ପ୍ୟାଟେଣ୍ଟ ହୋଇଥିଲା ଏବଂ ୧୯୪୧ରେ ଚିକିତ୍ସା କ୍ଷେତ୍ରରେ ବ୍ୟବହାର ପାଇଁ ଅନୁମୋଦିତ ହୋଇଥିଲା ।^[୫] ^[୬] ଏହାର ନାମ ବିଶ୍ୱ ସ୍ୱାସ୍ଥ୍ୟ ସଂଗଠନର ଜରୁରୀ ଔଷଧ ତାଲିକାରେ ଲିପିବଦ୍ଧ ଅଛି ।^[୭] ଏହା ଏକ ସାଧାରଣ ଔଷଧ ଭାବରେ ଉପଲବ୍ଧ ।^[୧] ବିକାଶଶୀଳ ଦେଶମାନଙ୍କରେ ହୋଲସେଲ ମୂଲ୍ୟ ୨୦୧୪ ସୁଦ୍ଧା ଦିନକୁ ପ୍ରାୟ ୦.୨୭ ଡଲାର ଥିଲା ।^[୮] ଯୁକ୍ତରାଷ୍ଟ୍ରରେ ସାଧାରଣ ଚିକିତ୍ସା ପାଇଁ ଏହାର ମୂଲ୍ୟ ୨୫ ଡଲାରରୁ କମ୍ ଅଟେ ।^[୩]୨୦୧୭ରେ ଏହା ଯୁକ୍ତରାଷ୍ଟ୍ରରେ ୧୫୪ତମ ସାଧାରଣ ପ୍ରେସକ୍ରିପସନ ଔଷଧ ଥିଲା, ଯେଉଁଥିରେ ଚାରି ନିୟୁତରୁ ଅଧିକ ପ୍ରେସକ୍ରିପସନ୍ ରହିଥିଲା ।^[୯] ^[୧୦]
