ରାନିଟିଡିନ ଇଞ୍ଜେକସନ ଦେଲେ ମୁଣ୍ଡବଥା, ଇଞ୍ଜେକସନ ନେଇଥିବା ଜାଗାରେ କଷ୍ଟ ଓ ଜଳାପୋଡ଼ା ଭଳି ପାର୍ଶ୍ୱ ପ୍ରତିକ୍ରିୟା ହୁଏ । ସାଂଘାତିକ ପାର୍ଶ୍ୱ ପ୍ରତିକ୍ରିୟା ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଯକୃତ ସମସ୍ୟା, କମ ହୃତସ୍ପନ୍ଦନ ହାର, ନିମୋନିଆ ଓ ସମ୍ଭାବ୍ୟ ପାକସ୍ଥଳୀ କର୍କଟ ଲକ୍ଷଣ ଲୁଚିଯିବା ସଙ୍କଟ ହୋଇପାରେ ।^[୨] କ୍ଲସ୍ଟ୍ରିଡିଅମ ଡିଫିସିଲ କୋଲାଇଟିସ ରୋଗ ହେବା ସଙ୍କଟ ଅଧିକ ହୁଏ ।^[୪] ଗର୍ଭାବସ୍ଥାରେ ସାଧାରଣତଃ ଏହା ବିପଦମୁକ୍ତ ଥାଏ । ଏହାଦ୍ୱାରା ପାକସ୍ଥଳୀର ଜୀବକୋଷରୁ କ୍ଷରିତ ଅମ୍ଳ ପରିମାଣ କମିଯାଏ, ତେଣୁ ଏହାକୁ ହିସ୍ଟାମିନ ରିସେପ୍ଟର ଆଣ୍ଟାଗୋନିସ୍ଟ କୁହାଯାଏ ।^[୨]
