ମେଟାକ୍ସାଲୋନ, ଏକ ବେପାର ନାମ ସ୍କେଲାକ୍ସିନ୍, ହେଉଥିବା ହେଉଛି ଏକ ମାଂସପେଶୀ ଶିଥିଳକାରୀ ଯାହା ଅସ୍ଥି-ମାଂସପେଶୀ ରୋଗମାନଙ୍କରେ ହେଉଥିବା ଯନ୍ତ୍ରଣା ଲାଘବ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ଦିଆଯାଏ ।^[୧] ସେରେବ୍ରାଲ ପାଲ୍‌ସି ରୋଗରେ ଏହା ଉପ‌ଯୋଗୀ ବୋଲି ଜଣାପଡ଼ି ନାହିଁ ।^[୨] ଏହା ପାଟିରେ ଦିଆଯାଏ ।^[୨] ଏହାକୁ ବିଶ୍ରାମ ଏବଂ ଫିଜିଓଥେରାପି ସହିତ ଏକତ୍ର ବ୍ୟବହାର କରାଯାଇପାରେ ।^[୨]

ସାଧାରଣ ପାର୍ଶ୍ୱ ପ୍ରତିକ୍ରିୟାରେ ନିଦ୍ରାଳୁ, ମୁଣ୍ଡ ବୁଲାଇବା, ମୁଣ୍ଡବିନ୍ଧା, ବାନ୍ତି, ଏବଂ ଉତ୍ତେଜନା ହୋଇପାରେ ।^[୧] ଅନ୍ୟାନ୍ୟ ପାର୍ଶ୍ୱ ପ୍ରତିକ୍ରିୟାରେ ଆନାଫାଇଲକ୍‌ସିସ, ରାସ, ଜଣ୍ଡିସ୍, ସେରୋଟୋନିନ ସିଣ୍ଡ୍ରୋମ ଏବଂ ସ୍ୱଳ୍ପ ରକ୍ତ କଣିକା ହୋଇପାରେ। ^[୧] ଗର୍ଭାବସ୍ଥାରେ ସୁରକ୍ଷା ଅବସ୍ଥା ସ୍ପଷ୍ଟ ନୁହେଁ ।^[୧] ପ୍ରକୃତରେ ଏହା କିପରି କାମ କରେ ତାହା ଜଣା ନାହିଁ, କିନ୍ତୁ ଏହା କେନ୍ଦ୍ରୀୟ ସ୍ନାୟୁ ପ୍ରଣାଳୀର ସାଧାରଣ ଅବସାଦ ହେତୁ ହୋଇପାରେ ।^[୧]

୧୯୬୨ ମସିହାରେ ଯୁକ୍ତରାଷ୍ଟ୍ରରେ ଚିକିତ୍ସା ବ୍ୟବହାର ପାଇଁ ମେଟାକ୍ସାଲୋନକୁ ଅନୁମୋଦନ କରାଯାଇଥିଲା ।^[୨] ଯୁକ୍ତରାଷ୍ଟ୍ରରେ ୩୦ଟି ବଟିକାର ମୂଲ୍ୟ ପ୍ରାୟ ୨୪ ଡଲାର ଅଟେ ।^[୩] ସାଧାରଣ ଭାବରେ ଏହାର ବ୍ୟବହାର ସୁପାରିଶ କରାଯାଏ ନାହିଁ | ^[୪]
