ଫ୍ଲୁସିଟୋସିନ (ଇଂରାଜୀ ଭାଷାରେ Flucytosine ବା 5-fluorocytosine ବା 5-FC) ଏକ କବକରୋଧୀ ଔଷଧ (antifungal medication) ସାଂଘାତିକ କାଣ୍ଡିଡା ସଂକ୍ରମଣ (Candida infection) ଓ କ୍ରିପ୍ଟୋକ‌କୋସିସ (cryptococcosis) ସଂକ୍ରମଣରେ ଏହା ଆମ୍ପୋଟେରିସିନ ବି (amphotericin B) ସ‌ହିତ ଦିଆଯାଏ । କ୍ରୋମୋମାଇକୋସିସ (chromomycosis) ରୋଗରେ ଏହା ଏକ‌କ ଭାବରେ ଦିଆଯାଇପାରେ ବା ଅନ୍ୟାନ୍ୟ କବକରୋଧୀ ଔଷଧ ସ‌ହିତ ଦିଆଯାଇପାରେ ।^[୧] ଫ୍ଲୁସିଟୋସିନ ପାଟିରେ ବା ଶିରାଭ୍ୟନ୍ତରରେ ଦିଆଯାଏ (injection into a vein) ।^[୧]^[୨]

ଫ୍ଲୁସିଟୋସିନର ପାର୍ଶ୍ୱ ପ୍ରତିକ୍ରିୟାରେ ଅସ୍ଥିମଜ୍ଜା ଦମନ (bone marrow suppression), ଅରୁଚି, ତରଳ ଝାଡ଼ା, ବାନ୍ତି ଓ ସାଇକୋସିସ (psychosis) ଇତ୍ୟାଦି ହୋଇପାରେ । ଆନାଫାଇଲାକ୍‌ସିସ anaphylaxis ଓ ଅନ୍ୟାନ୍ୟ ଆଲର୍ଜି ପ୍ରତିକ୍ରିୟା allergic reactions ସାମୟିକ ଦେଖାଯାଇପାରେ । ଗର୍ଭାବସ୍ଥାରେ ଶିଶୁ ପ୍ରତି ବିପଦ ବିଷୟରେ ସ୍ପଷ୍ଟ ଚିତ୍ର ନାହିଁ ।^[୩] ଫ୍ଲରିନେଟେଡ ପାଇରିମିଡିନ ଆନାଲଗ (pyrimidine analogue) ଶ୍ରେଣୀର ଫ୍ଲୁସିଟୋସିନ ଏକ ଔଷଧ । ଏହା କବକ ଭିତରେ ଫ୍ଲୋରୋୟୁରାସିଲରେ (fluorouracil) ପରିବର୍ତ୍ତିତ ହୋଇ ତାହାର ପ୍ରୋଟିନ (protein) ତିଆରି ସାମର୍ଥ୍ୟକୁ ଅବରୋଧ କରିଦିଏ ।^[୧]

ଫ୍ଲୁସିଟୋସିନ ପ୍ରଥମେ ସନ ୧୯୫୭ରେ ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତ ହୋଇଥିଲା ।^[୪] ଏହାର ନାମ ବିଶ୍ୱ ସ୍ୱାସ୍ଥ୍ୟ ସଂଗଠନର ଅତ୍ୟାବଶ୍ୟକୀୟ ଔଷଧ ଚିଠାରେ (World Health Organization's List of Essential Medicines) ଅଛି ଯାହା ମୌଳିକ ସ୍ୱାସ୍ଥ୍ୟ ସିସ୍ଟମ (health system) ନିମନ୍ତେ ଅତି ମହତ୍ତ୍ୱପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ।^[୫] ସନ ୨୦୧୬ରେ ଏକ ଦିନ ଡୋଜର ମୂଲ୍ୟ ଯୁକ୍ତରାଷ୍ଟ୍ର ଆମେରିକାରେ ଏହାର ପ୍ରାୟ ୨୦୦୦ ଆମେରିକୀୟ ଡଲାର ଓ ଇଂଲଣ୍ଡରେ ୨୨ ଆମେରିକୀୟ ଡଲାର ।^[୬] ବିକାଶଶୀଳ ଦେଶମାନଙ୍କରେ ଏହା ପ୍ରାୟ ମିଳେନାହିଁ ।^[୭]
