ଆଇଫୋସଫାମାଇଡ (ଇଂରାଜୀ ଭାଷାରେ Ifosfamide ବା IFO, ଏକ ବିକ୍ରୟ ନାମ ଆଇଫେକ୍ସ) ଏକ କେମୋଥେରାପି ଔଷଧ (chemotherapy medication) ଯାହା ଅନେକ ପ୍ରକାରର କର୍କଟ ରୋଗମାନଙ୍କର ଚିକିତ୍ସାରେ ଦିଆଯାଏ । ଏହି ଭଳି ରୋଗମାନଙ୍କର ନାମ ଯଥାକ୍ରମେ ଟେସ୍ଟିକୁଲାର କର୍କଟ (testicular cancer), ସଫ୍ଟଟିସୁ ସାର୍କୋମା (soft tissue sarcoma), ଓଷ୍ଟିଓସାର୍କୋମା (osteosarcoma), ମୂତ୍ରାଶୟ କର୍କଟ (bladder cancer), ସ୍ମଲ ସେଲ ଫୁସଫୁସ କର୍କଟ (small cell lung cancer), ଗର୍ଭାଶୟ ଗ୍ରୀବା କର୍କଟ ଓ ଓଭାରିଆନ କର୍କଟ (ovarian cancer) । ଏହା ଶିରାଭ୍ୟନ୍ତର ଇଞ୍ଜେକସନ (injection into a vein) ଆକାରରେ ଦିଆଯାଏ ।[୧]
ଆଇଫୋସଫାମାଇଡର ପାର୍ଶ୍ୱ ପ୍ରତିକ୍ରିୟାରେ କେଶହାନୀ, ବାନ୍ତି, ପରିସ୍ରାରେ ରକ୍ତ, ସଂକ୍ରମଣ ଓ ବୃକ୍କ ସମସ୍ୟା ଆଦି ଲକ୍ଷଣମାନ ଦେଖାଯାଏ । ଅନ୍ୟାନ୍ୟ ସାଂଘାତିକ ପ୍ରତିକ୍ରିୟା ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଅସ୍ଥିମଜ୍ଜା ଦମନ (bone marrow suppression) ଓ କମ ଚେତନାବସ୍ଥା (decreased level of consciousness) କେଖାଯାଏ । ଗର୍ଭାବସ୍ଥାରେ ଦେଲେ ଏହା ଶିଶୁର ହାନୀ କରାଏ ।[୧] ଏହା ଆଲକିଲେଟିଙ୍ଗ ଆଣ୍ଟିନିଓପ୍ଲାସ୍ଟିକ ଏଜେଣ୍ଟ (alkylating agent) ଓ ନାଇଟ୍ରୋଜେନ ମସ୍ଟାର୍ଡ଼ (nitrogen mustard) ଶ୍ରେଣୀର ଏକ ଔଷଧ ।[୧][୨] ଏହା ଡିଏନଏର (DNA) ବିଭକ୍ତିକରଣକୁ ନଷ୍ଟ କରେ ଓ ଆରଏନଏର (RNA) ସୃଷ୍ଟିକୁ ଅବରୋଧ କରେ ।[୧]
ଆଇଫୋସଫାମାଇଡ ଯୁକ୍ତରାଷ୍ଟ୍ର ଆମେରିକାରେ ସନ ୧୯୮୭ରେ ଡାକ୍ତରୀ ବ୍ୟବହାର ନିମନ୍ତେ ସ୍ୱୀକୃତ ହୋଇଥିଲା ।[୧] ଏହାର ନାମ ବିଶ୍ୱ ସ୍ୱାସ୍ଥ୍ୟ ସଂଗଠନର ଅତ୍ୟାବଶ୍ୟକୀୟ ଔଷଧ ଚିଠାରେ (World Health Organization's List of Essential Medicines) ଅଛି ଯାହା ମୌଳିକ ସ୍ୱାସ୍ଥ୍ୟ ସିସ୍ଟମ (health system) ନିମନ୍ତେ ଅତି ମହତ୍ତ୍ୱପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ।[୩] ବିକାଶଶୀଳ ଦେଶମାନଙ୍କରେ (developing world) ଏହି ଔଷଧର ଏକ ୨ ଗ୍ରାମ ଭାଏଲର ହୋଲସେଲ ମୂଲ୍ୟ ୭.୩୫ରୁ ୭୦.୭୦ ଆମେରିକୀୟ ଡଲାର ।[୪] ଇଂଲଣ୍ଡରେ ଏହାର ମୂଲ୍ୟ ୧୩୦.୦୪ ପାଉଣ୍ଡ ।[୫]
