The future generation now is learning everything from the Internet.
If the use of Odia language grows on the Internet they can know more things about Odia and history of Odisha.

Bigger companies like Google and Microsoft will come forward to create Translation, OCR (Optical Character Recognition) and Text to Speech for Odia.

Instead of searching for essential information from multiple books, it's easier and less time-consuming to find anything on the Internet.

It's quite sad that there is not much info in Odia on the internet.

Odia has been missing from the Google India homepage.

Odia Wikipedia is an online encyclopedia where vital content in our language is available.

The future generation can find this information easily [there].

If you search for any topic online, it's the English Wikipedia link that appears on the top.

Wikipedia content is trustworthy.
If we write about more topics in Odia Wikipedia, people can find important information in their own language.

Only a few of us volunteers write on Odia Wikipedia.

If you won't join us, then how can the quality and quantity of these articles improve?

There are many Wikipedia editors in English and other European languages which is why you can find quality articles about even about streets there.

However, only a few in our country know that we can read as well as write on Wikipedia.

As there are fewer editors, many of the vital articles don't at all exist.

Unlike other encyclopedias, Wikipedia is not managed by some [designated] people.

It's a nonprofit community and is open to all.

Anyone can participate and contribute here.

The volunteers who write here do not receive any monetary or other remunerations.

You may feel surprised to learn that out of more than 1.2 billion people in our country, only about 2,000 contribute to Wikipedia.

Also, only about 25 edit Odia Wikipedia.

Please think again, if only 25 out of 45 million write contribute, how much can be written?

Watch the next video to learn how you can help spread the use of Odia online.

The details are below.
