ଅନୁସୂଚିତ ଜାତି ଭାରତୀୟ ସମ୍ବିଧାନର ଅନୁସୂଚିତ ଧାରା ଅନୁସାରେ ଏକ ନିର୍ଦ୍ଧିଷ୍ଟ ଗୋଷ୍ଠୀକୁ ବୁଝାଏ ।^[୧]^[୨] ଜାତିଗତ ଦୃଷ୍ଟିରୁ ଦଳିତ ଓ ହରିଜନ ଆଦି ନାମ ମଧ୍ୟ ଅନୁସୂଚିତ ଜାତି ପାଇଁ ବ୍ୟବହାର କରାଯାଏ ।^[୩]

ଅନୁସୂଚିତ ଜନଜାତି ବା ଆଦିବାସୀ ସାମୁହିକ ଭାବେ ଆଦିମ ଅଧିବାସୀମାନଙ୍କୁ ବୁଝାଏ । ଓଡ଼ିଶାରେ ୬୨ଟି ଅନୁସୂଚିତ ଜନଜାତିର ଲୋକ ବାସକରନ୍ତି ।
