ନାଟାମାଇସିନ ଅନ୍ୟ ନାମ ପିମାରିସିନ (ଇଂରାଜୀ ଭାଷାରେ Natamycin/ pimaricin) ଏକ କବକ ବିରୋଧୀ (antifungal medication) ଔଷଧ ଯାହା କବକ ସଂକ୍ରମଣର (fungal infections) ଚିକିତ୍ସାରେ ଦିଆଯାଏ ।^[୧]^[୨] ଆଖି ପତା, (eyelids), ନେତ୍ରାବରଣ ଓ କର୍ନିଆ (cornea) ଇତ୍ୟାଦିର କବକ ସଂକ୍ରମଣରେ ଏହା ଦିଆଯାଏ ।^[୧] ଆଖି ଡ୍ରପ eyedrops ଆକାରରେ ପକାଯାଏ ।^[୧] ସଂରକ୍ଷଣକାରୀ (preservative) ଭାବରେ ନାଟାମାଇସିନ ଖାଦ୍ୟ କାରଖାନାରେ ବ୍ୟବ‌ହାର କରାଯାଏ ।^[୨]

ଆଲର୍ଜି ପ୍ରତିକ୍ରିୟା (Allergic reactions ହୋଇପାରେ ।^[୧] It is unclear if medical use during ଗର୍ଭାବସ୍ଥା ଓ ସ୍ତନ୍ୟପାନ en:breastfeeding ସମୟରେ ଏହା ନିରାପଦ କି ନୁହେଁ, ତାହା ସ୍ପଷ୍ଟ ହୋଇନାହିଁ ।^[୧] ଏହା ମାକ୍ରୋଲାଇଡ (macrolide) ଓ ପୋଲିନ ଆଣ୍ଟିମାଇକୋଟକ (polyene) ଶ୍ରେଣୀର ଏକ ଔଷଧ । ^[୧] କୋଷ ପରଦା (cell membrane) ପରିବର୍ତ୍ତନ କରି ଏହା ଫଙ୍ଗିସାଇଡ (କବକ) ମୃତ୍ୟୁ କରାଏ ।^[୧]

ସନ ୧୯୫୫ରେ ନାଟାମାଇସିନ ଆବିଷ୍କୃତ ଓ ସନ ୧୯୭୮ରେ ଡାକ୍ତରୀ ବ୍ୟବ‌ହାର ନିମନ୍ତେ ଯୁକ୍ତରାଷ୍ଟ୍ର ଆମେରିକାରେ ସ୍ୱୀକୃତ ହୋଇଥିଲା ।^[୧]^[୨] ଏହାର ନାମ ବିଶ୍ୱ ସ୍ୱାସ୍ଥ୍ୟ ସଂଗଠନର ଅତ୍ୟାବଶ୍ୟକୀୟ ଔଷଧ ଚିଠାରେ (World Health Organization's List of Essential Medicines) ଅଛି ଯାହା ମୌଳିକ ସ୍ୱାସ୍ଥ୍ୟ ସିସ୍ଟମ (health system) ନିମନ୍ତେ ଅତି ମହତ୍ତ୍ୱପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ।^[୩] ବିକାଶଶୀଳ ଦେଶମାନଙ୍କରେ (developing world) ଏହି ଔଷଧର ଏକ ୫ ମି:ଲି: ବୋତଲର କ୍ରୟ ମୂଲ୍ୟ ୯୨.୯୦ରୁ ୧୨୬.୭୨ ଆମେରିକୀୟ ଡଲାର ।^[୪] ସ୍ଟ୍ରପ୍ଟୋମାଇସେସ ନାଟାଲିଏନସିସ (Streptomyces natalensis) ଜୀବାଣୁର ଫରମେଣ୍ଟେସନ fermentation କରି ଏହି ଔଷଧ ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତ କରାଯାଏ ।^[୧]
