ନାପ୍ରୋକ୍ସେନ (ଇଂରାଜୀ ଭାଷାରେ Naproxen, ବିକ୍ରୟ ନାମଗୁଡ଼ିକ Aleve/ ଆଲେଭେ ଓ Naprosyn/ ନାପ୍ରୋସିନ) ଏକ ନନ୍‌ସ୍ଟିରଏଡାଲ ଆଣ୍ଟି-ଇନଫ୍ଲାମେଟରି ଔଷଧ (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug) ଯାହା ଯନ୍ତ୍ରଣା, ଋତୁସ୍ରାବ କ୍ରାମ୍ପ, ରିଉମାଟଏଡ ଆର୍ଥ୍ରାଇଟିସ ଓ ଜ୍ୱର ଭଳି ପ୍ରଦାହ ରୋଗର (inflammatory diseases) ଚିକିତ୍ସା ନିମନ୍ତେ ଦିଆଯାଏ । ^[୫] ଏହା ପାଟିରେ ଦିଆଯାଏ ।^[୫] ତୁରନ୍ତ ଓ ବିଳମ୍ବିତ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟକ୍ଷମ ନିମନ୍ତେ ଏହାର ଦୁଇ ପ୍ରକାର ଔଷଧ ମିଳେ ।^[୫] ଏକ ଘଣ୍ଟା ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଏହାର ପ୍ରଭାବ ଆରମ୍ଭ ହୋଇ ପ୍ରାୟ ୧୨ ଘଣ୍ଟା ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ରହେ ।^[୫]

ଏହାର ସାଧାରଣ ପାର୍ଶ୍ୱ ପ୍ରତିକ୍ରିୟାରେ ମୁଣ୍ଡ ଓଜନିଆ, ମୁଣ୍ଡ ବିନ୍ଧା, ବ୍ରୁଇସିଙ୍ଗ (bruising), ଆଲର୍ଜି ପ୍ରତିକ୍ରିୟା, ଛାତିଜ୍ୱାଳା (heartburn) ଓ ପାକସ୍ଥଳୀ ଯନ୍ତ୍ରଣା ହୋଇପାରେ ।^[୫] ପ୍ରତିକ୍ରିୟା ସାଂଘାତିକ ହେଲେ ହୃତ୍‌ପିଣ୍ଡ ରୋଗ (heart disease) ସଙ୍କଟ, ଷ୍ଟ୍ରୋକ, ପାକସ୍ଥଳୀ ଅନ୍ତନଳୀ ରକ୍ତସ୍ରାବ (gastrointestinal bleeding), ଓ ପାକସ୍ଥଳୀ ଘାଆ (stomach ulcers) ହୋଇପାରେ ।^[୫] ଅନ୍ୟାନ୍ୟ ଏନଏସଏଆଇଡି ଅପେକ୍ଷା ଏହାର ହୃଦ୍‌ରୋଗ ସଙ୍କଟ କମ୍ ରହେ ।^[୫] ବୃକ୍‌କ ସମସ୍ୟା (kidney problems) ଥିଲେ ଏହା ଦିଆଯାଏ ନାହିଁ ।^[୫] ତୃତୀୟ ତ୍ରୈମାସିକ ଗର୍ଭରେ (third trimester of pregnancy) ମଧ୍ୟ ଏହା ଦିଆଯାଏ ନାହିଁ ।^[୬]

ନାପ୍ରୋକ୍ସେନ ଏକ ନନସିଲେକ୍ଟିଭ କ‌କ୍ସ ଇନହିବିଟର (COX inhibitor).^[୫] ଏହା ପ୍ରୋପିଓନିକ ଶ୍ରେଣୀର (propionic acid) ଏକ ଔଷଧ ।^[୫] ପ୍ରୋସ୍ଟାଗ୍ଲାଣ୍ଡିନ (prostaglandins) ଭଳି ପ୍ରଦାହକାରୀ ପଦାର୍ଥ ତିଆରିକୁ କମେଇ ଏହା ପ୍ରଦାହରୋଧୀ ଭାବରେ କାମ କରେ ।^[୭] ଯକୃତରେ ଏହା ନିଷ୍କ୍ରିୟ ମେଟାବୋଲାଇଟରେ ପରିଣତ ହୁଏ । ^[୫]
