ରଘୁନାଥ ମାହାତୋ (୨୧ ମାର୍ଚ୍ଚ ୧୭୩୮ - ୫ ଅପ୍ରେଲ ୧୭୭୮) କୁଦମୀ ମାହାତୋ ସମ୍ପ୍ରଦାୟର ଚୁଆର ବିଦ୍ରୋହର ଜଣେ ପ୍ରମୁଖ ବିପ୍ଳବୀ ନେତା ଥିଲେ ।[୧][୨][୩][୪] ସେ ୧୭୬୯ ମସିହାରେ ଇଷ୍ଟ ଇଣ୍ଡିଆ କମ୍ପାନୀ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ବିଦ୍ରୋହର ନେତୃତ୍ୱ ନେଇଥିଲେ ।[୫][୬][୭][୮]

ରଘୁନାଥ ମାହାତୋ ୧୭୩୮ ମସିହାର ମାର୍ଚ୍ଚ ୨୧ ତାରିଖରେ ଷଢ଼େଇଖଳା-ଖରସୁଆଁ ଜିଲ୍ଲାର ନିମଡିହ ବ୍ଲକର ଗୁଟିଆଡିହ ଗ୍ରାମରେ ଜନ୍ମଗ୍ରହଣ କରିଥିଲେ ।[୯][୧୦][୧୧]
ବିଦ୍ରୋହ[ସମ୍ପାଦନା]
ବ୍ରିଟିଶଙ୍କ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ବିଦ୍ରୋହ ଚୁଆର ବିଦ୍ରୋହ ଭାବରେ ଜଣାଶୁଣା । ଚୁଆର ଅର୍ଥ ଲୁଟେରା । ୧୭୬୫ ମସିହାରେ ବ୍ରିଟିଶମାନେ ବକ୍ସର ଯୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଜିତିବା ପରେ ବିହାର ଓ ବେଙ୍ଗଲରୁ ଟିକସ ଆଦାୟ କରିବା ଆରମ୍ଭ କରିଥିଲେ ।[୧୨] କିନ୍ତୁ ଲୋକମାନେ ଏହାକୁ ବିରୋଧ କରିଥିଲେ, କାରଣ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କର ଧାରଣା ଥିଲା କି ବ୍ରିଟିଶମାନେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କର ଅଧିକାରରୁ ବଞ୍ଚିତ କରୁଛନ୍ତି । କେତେକ ଜମିଦାର ବ୍ରିଟିଶଙ୍କ ସହିତ ଯୋଗ ଦେଇଥିବା ବେଳେ ଅନ୍ୟମାନେ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ବିଦ୍ରୋହ କରିଥିଲେ । ୧୭୬୯ ମସିହାରେ, ରଘୁନାଥ ମାହାତୋ କୁଡମି ମାହାତୋ ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ ବ୍ରିଟିଶମାନଙ୍କ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ବିଦ୍ରୋହ କରିବାକୁ ଆହ୍ୱାନ ଦେଇଥିଲେ ।[୧୩][୭][୧୪] ତାଙ୍କର ସ୍ଲୋଗାନ ଥିଲା:
ଏହି ବିଦ୍ରୋହ ସମୟରେ ଲୋଧା ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କଦ୍ୱାରା ଗାନ କରାଯାଇଥିବା ଲୋକନୃତ୍ୟ ଏହିପରି ଥିଲା:[୧୭][୧୮][୧୯]
..."କେସୁ ଆରିର୍ ଫାନ୍ସି ହୈଲୋ, ରଘୁନାଥ ମାହାତୋ ବାନ୍ଦାଇଗେଲୋ, ବାନ୍ସବୋନେ ଦୋମ ହୈଲୋ କାନା, ରାଗେ ଜାଲଛେ ଜଙ୍ଗଲ୍ ମହଲ୍ ଥାନା ।"
ଯେତେବେଳେ ବ୍ରିଟିଶମାନେ ଜମିଦାରଙ୍କୁ ବିଦ୍ରୋହୀଙ୍କ ପରିଚୟ ବିଷୟରେ ପଚାରିଲେ, ଜମିଦାର କହିଥିଲେ ଯେ ବିଦ୍ରୋହୀମାନେ ହେଉଛନ୍ତି ଚୁଆର ଅର୍ଥାତ ଲୁଟେରା, ଚୋର, ଖରାପ ଲୋକ, ବର୍ବର, ଅସଭ୍ୟ ତଥା ଅହଂକାରୀ ।[୨୦][୨୧][୨୨] ବିଦ୍ରୋହ କରିଥିବା ଲୋକମାନେ ବହୁ ଜାତିର ଅଟନ୍ତି ଯେପରିକି ମାହାତୋ କୁଡମି,[୨୩][୨୪][୨୫][୨୬][୨୭] ବାଗଡି, ମାହାତୋ, ବାଉରୀ ଏବଂ ଅନ୍ୟାନ୍ୟ ଆଦିବାସୀ ସମ୍ପ୍ରଦାୟର ।
୫ ଅପ୍ରେଲ ୧୭୭୮ରେ, ରଘୁନାଥ ମାହାତୋ ଏବଂ ତାଙ୍କ ଦଳ ଜଙ୍ଗଲରେ ବ୍ରିଟିଶ ସୈନ୍ୟଙ୍କଠାରୁ ଅସ୍ତ୍ରଶସ୍ତ୍ର ଛଡ଼ାଇ ନେବାକୁ ଯୋଜନା କରିଥିଲେ । ଏହି ସଂଘର୍ଷରେ ରଘୁନାଥଙ୍କ ସମେତ ତାଙ୍କ ସାଥୀ ବିଦ୍ରୋହୀମାନେ ବ୍ରିଟିଶ ସୈନ୍ୟଙ୍କ ସହିତ ଲଢ଼େଇ କରି ମୃତ୍ୟୁ ବରଣ କରିଥିଲେ ।[୮][୭]
