ଫ୍ୟାଟ ଏମ୍ବୋଲିଜ୍ମ ସିଣ୍ଡ୍ରୋମ ହୋଇଥିବା କୁହାଯାଏ ଯେତେବେଳେ ରକ୍ତ ସ୍ରୋତରେ ଚର୍ବି ପ୍ରବେଶ କରି ଲକ୍ଷଣ ଦର୍ଶାଏ ।^[୫] ଗୋଟିଏ ଦିନ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଲକ୍ଷଣ ଆରମ୍ଭ ହୁଏ | ^[୧] ଏଥିରେ ପେଟେକିଆ ରାସ ହୋଇପାରେ, ଚେତନା ସ୍ତରର ହ୍ରାସ ଏବଂ ଅଣନିଶ୍ୱାସ ଅନ୍ତର୍ଭୁକ୍ତ ହୋଇପାରେ | ^[୧] ଅନ୍ୟାନ୍ୟ ଲକ୍ଷଣ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଜ୍ୱର ଏବଂ ପରିସ୍ରା ହ୍ରାସ ହୋଇପାରେ | ^[୬] ମୃତ୍ୟୁ ହେବାର ଆଶଙ୍କା ପ୍ରାୟ ୧୦% ଅଟେ। ^[୩]

ଫ୍ୟାଟ ଏମ୍ବୋଲିଜ୍ମ ସାଧାରଣତଃ ଫିମର କିମ୍ବା ପେଲଭିସ ପରି ବଡ଼ ହାଡ଼ ଭଙ୍ଗା ପରେ ହୋଇଥାଏ | ^[୭] ^[୫] ଅନ୍ୟାନ୍ୟ ସମ୍ଭାବ୍ୟ କାରଣ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଅଗ୍ନାଶୟ ପ୍ରଦାହ, ଅର୍ଥୋପେଡିକ ଅପରେଶନ, ଅସ୍ଥିମଜ୍ଜା ପ୍ରତିରୋପଣ ବା ଲାଇପୋସକସନ ନାମ ଉଲ୍ଲେଖନୀୟ । ^[୨] ^[୬] ଅନ୍ତର୍ନିହିତ ପ୍ରଣାଳୀରେ ବ୍ୟାପକ ପ୍ରଦାହ ଜଡିତ ଥାଏ | ଲକ୍ଷଣ ଉପରେ ରୋଗ ନିର୍ଣ୍ଣୟ କରାଯାଏ ^[୨] ^[୩]

ଏହି ରୋଗ ନିମନ୍ତେ ପ୍ରାୟ ସାହାଯ୍ୟକାରୀ ଚିକିତ୍ସା ଯଥେଷ୍ଟ ହୁଏ | ^[୮] ଏଥିରେ ଅମ୍ଳଜାନ ଚିକିତ୍ସା, ଶିରାଭ୍ୟନ୍ତର ତରଳ ପଦାର୍ଥ, ଆଲବୁମିନ ଓ ଯାନ୍ତ୍ରିକ ଭେଣ୍ଟିଲାସନ ଆବଶ୍ୟକ ହୁଏ । ^[୬] ଅସ୍ଥି ଭଙ୍ଗା ପରେ ସାଧାରଣତଃ ରକ୍ତରେ ଅଳ୍ପ ପରିମାଣର ଚର୍ବି ଦେଖାଯାଏ,^[୭] କିନ୍ତୁ ଫ୍ୟାଟ ଏମ୍ବୋଲିଜ୍ମ ସିଣ୍ଡ୍ରୋମ କ୍ୱଚିତ ହୁଏ ।^[୪] ଏହି ଅବସ୍ଥା ପ୍ରଥମେ ୧୮୬୨ ମସିହାରେ ଜେନକର ନିର୍ଣ୍ଣୟ କରିଥିଲେ । ^[୫]
