ଓଆରଟି ବା ଓରାଲ ରିହାଇଡ୍ରେସନ ଥେରାପି ବା ଓଆରଏସ (ଇଂରାଜୀ ଭାଷାରେ Oral rehydration therapy ବା ORT ବା oral rehydration solution ବା ORS) ଏକ ପ୍ରକାର ତରଳ ପଦାର୍ଥ ପ୍ରତିସ୍ଥାପନ (fluid replacement) ଯାହା ନିର୍ଜଳନର (dehydration) ପ୍ରତିଷେଧ ଓ ଚିକିତ୍ସା ନିମନ୍ତେ ବ୍ୟବ‌ହାର କରାଯାଏ ବିଶେଷତଃ ତରଳ ଝାଡ଼ା ରୋଗରେ । ଏଥିରେ ପାନୀୟ ଜଳରେ କିଛି ପରିମାଣରେ ଶର୍କରା ଓ ଲୁଣ ଥାଏ । ଏହା ଏକ ନାଜୋଗ୍ୟାସ୍ଟ୍ରିକ ଟ୍ୟୁବ (nasogastric tube) ମାଧ୍ୟମରେ ଦିଆଯାଇପାରେ । ନିୟମିତ ଭାବରେ ଏହି ଥେରାପିରେ ଜିଙ୍କ ସପ୍ଲିମେଣ୍ଟ (zinc supplements) ଯୋଗ କରାଯାଏ । [୧] ଏହି ଓଆରଟି ଚିକିତ୍ସାଦ୍ୱାରା ତରଳ ଝାଡ଼ାର ମୃତ୍ୟୁ ସଙ୍କଟ ପ୍ରାୟ ୯୩% କମିଯାଏ । [୨]

ଏହାର ପାର୍ଶ୍ୱ ପ୍ରତିକ୍ରିୟାରେ ବାନ୍ତି (vomiting), ଅଧିକ ରକ୍ତ ସୋଡ଼ିଅମ (high blood sodium) ବା ଅଧିକ ରକ୍ତ ପଟାସିଅମ (high blood potassium) ହୋଇପାରେ । ବାନ୍ତି ହେଲେ ୧୦ମିନିଟ ନିମନ୍ତେ ଓଆରଟି ଦେବା ବନ୍ଦ କରାଯାଏ ଓ ତା'ପରେ ଧୀରେ ଧୀରେ ଦିଆଯାଏ । ଏହା ଏକ ଦ୍ରବଣ ଯେଉଁଥିରେ ସୋଡ଼ିଅମ କ୍ଲୋରାଇଡ (sodium chloride), ସୋଡ଼ିଅମ ସାଇଟ୍ରେଟ (sodium citrate), ପୋଟାସିଅମ କ୍ଲୋରାଇଡ (potassium chloride) ଓ ଶର୍କରା (glucose) ଥାଏ । ଶର୍କରା ବା ଗ୍ଲୁକୋଜ ନଥିଲେ ସୁକ୍ରୋଜ (sucrose) ଦିଆଯାଇପାରେ ।[୧] ଗ୍ଲୁକୋଜ ସାହାଯ୍ୟରେ ଅନ୍ତନଳୀରୁ (intestines) ସୋଡ଼ିଅମ ଓ ଜଳ ଅଧିକ ଅବଶୋଷଣ ହୁଏ । ଏହାର ଅନେକ ପ୍ରକାର ଫର୍ମୁଲା ମିଳେ ଓ ଘରେ ମଧ୍ୟ ଏହା ତିଆରି କରାଯାଇପାରେ ।[୩][୨] ଘରେ ତିଆରି କରାଯାଉଥିବା ଦ୍ରବଣର କିନ୍ତୁ ଉପ‌ଯୁକ୍ତ ଅନୁଶୀଳନ ହୋଇନାହିଁ ।[୨]

ସନ ୧୯୪୦ ପ୍ରଥମେ ଓଆରଟି ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତ କରାଯାଇଥିଲେ ମଧ୍ୟ ସନ ୧୯୭୦ ସୁଦ୍ଧା ସାଧାରଣ ବ୍ୟବ‌ହାରରେ ଲାଗିନଥିଲା । [୪] ଏହାର ନାମ ବିଶ୍ୱ ସ୍ୱାସ୍ଥ୍ୟ ସଂଗଠନର ଅତ୍ୟାବଶ୍ୟକୀୟ ଔଷଧ ଚିଠାରେ (World Health Organization's List of Essential Medicines) ଅଛି ଯାହା ମୌଳିକ ସ୍ୱାସ୍ଥ୍ୟ ସିସ୍ଟମ (health system) ନିମନ୍ତେ ଅତି ମହତ୍ତ୍ୱପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ।[୫] ବିକାଶଶୀଳ ଦେଶମାନଙ୍କରେ (developing world) ଜଳରେ ମିଶାଯାଉଥିବା ଏହି ଔଷଧର ଏକ ପ୍ୟାକେଟର ହୋଲସେଲ ମୂଲ୍ୟ ୦.୦୩ରୁ ୦.୨୦ ଆମେରିକୀୟ ଡଲାର ।[୬] ସନ ୨୦୧୫ ସୁଦ୍ଧା ତରଳ ଝାଡ଼ା ଭୋଗୁଥିବା ୪୧% ପିଲା ଓଆରଟି ବ୍ୟବ‌ହାର କରୁଛନ୍ତି । ଶିଶୁ ମୃତ୍ୟୁ ହାର (number of deaths in children under the age of five) କମେଇବାରେ ଏହା ଏକ ମୂଖ୍ୟ ଭୂମିକା ନିର୍ବାହ କରୁଛି ।[୭]
