୨୦୧୮ କେରଳ ବନ୍ୟା ୨୦୧୮ ମସିହା ଅଗଷ୍ଟ ମାସରେ ମୌସୁମୀ ଯୋଗୁଁ ଭାରତର କେରଳଠାରେ ଅତ୍ୟଧିକ ବର୍ଷା ହେତୁ ହୋଇଥିଲା । ଏଥିରେ ୩୨୪ରୁ ଅଧିକ ଲୋକ ପ୍ରାଣ ହରାଇସାରିଲେଣି ଏବଂ ପାଖାପାଖି ୨,୦୦,୦୦୦ରୁ ଅଧିକ ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ ନିରାପଦ ଜାଗାକୁ ସ୍ଥାନାନ୍ତରିତ ହୋଇସାରିଲାଣି ।[୧] ୧୪ଟି ଜିଲ୍ଲାରେ ସତର୍କ ସୂଚନା ଜାରୀ କରାଯାଇଥିଲା ।[୨][୩] ଏକ ଦଶନ୍ଧି ଭିତରେ ଏହି ବନ୍ୟା ଥିଲା କେରଳର ସବୁଠୁ ଅଧିକ ଭୟଙ୍କର ।[୪] ଗତ ୧୦୦ ବର୍ଷ ମଧ୍ୟରେ କେରଳରେ ହୋଇଥିବା ବନ୍ୟା ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଏହା ସବୁଠାରୁ ଭୟଙ୍କର ବୋଲି ବିବେଚନା କରାଯାଉଛି ।[୧]
କେରଳର ୪୨ଟି ବନ୍ଧ ଭିତରୁ ୩୫ଟି ଏବଂ ଏସିଆର ଉଚ୍ଚତମ ତୋରଣ ବନ୍ଧ ଇଡୁକି ଡ୍ୟାମର ପାଞ୍ଚଟି ଯାକ ଦ୍ୱାର ଇତିହାସରେ ପ୍ରଥମ ଥର ପାଇଁ ଖୋଲାଯାଇଥିଲା ।[୫] ୱାୟନାଡ଼ରେ ଭୀଷଣ ବର୍ଷା ହେତୁ ଏହି ପାହାଡ଼ିଆ ଜିଲ୍ଲାଟି ବିଛିନ୍ନ ହୋଇପଡ଼ିଛି ।[୬]

କେରଳରେ ମୌସୁମୀ ସମୟରେ ଭୀଷଣ ବର୍ଷା ହୋଇଥାଏ[when?] ଫଳରେ ବନ୍ଧଗୁଡ଼ିକ ଜଳଧାରଣ କ୍ଷମତା ପହଞ୍ଚିଯାଏ । ପ୍ରଥମ ୨୪ ଘଣ୍ଟାରେ{{when|date=August 2018 ରାଜ୍ୟରେ ୩୧୦ ମି.ମି. ବର୍ଷା ହୋଇଥିଲା ।[୭] ପାଖାପାଖି ସମସ୍ତ ବନ୍ଧ ସେବେଠୁ[when?] ଖୋଲାଯାଇଛି ଫଳରେ ନୀଚା ଅଞ୍ଚଳଗୁଡ଼ିକରେ ବନ୍ୟା ହୋଇଥିଲା ।[୮] ରାଜ୍ୟର ପ୍ରଥମ ଥର ପାଇଁ ୪୨ଟି ବନ୍ଧ ଭିତରୁ ୩୫ଟି ଖୋଲାଯାଇଥିଲା ।[୯]
