ସୁଫେଣ୍ଟାନିଲ ପ୍ରଥମେ ୧୯୭୪ ମସିହାରେ ତିଆରି ହୋଇଥିଲା ଏବଂ ୧୯୮୪ରେ ଯୁକ୍ତରାଷ୍ଟ୍ରରେ ଚିକିତ୍ସା କ୍ଷେତ୍ରରେ ବ୍ୟବହାର ପାଇଁ ଅନୁମୋଦିତ ହୋଇଥିଲା ।^[୩] ^[୧] ଯୁକ୍ତରାଷ୍ଟ୍ରରେ ୨୦୨୧ ସୁଦ୍ଧା ୫୦୦ ୟୁସିଜି ପାଇଁ ଏହାର ମୂଲ୍ୟ ବାବଦ ପ୍ରାୟ ୫୦ ଡଲାର ଖର୍ଚ୍ଚ ହୋଇଛି।^[୪] ଯୁକ୍ତରାଷ୍ଟ୍ରରେ ଏହାକୁ ଏକ ଅନୁସୂଚୀତ II ନିୟନ୍ତ୍ରିତ ପଦାର୍ଥ ଭାବରେ ବର୍ଗୀକୃତ କରାଯାଇଛି ।^[୧]
