ସାଲମେଟେରୋଲ, ଏକ ବିକ୍ରୟ ନାମ ଅନ୍ୟମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ସେରେଭେଣ୍ଟ, ହେଉଛି ଆଜ୍‌ମା କିମ୍ବା କ୍ରନିକ ଅବଷ୍ଟ୍ରକ୍ଟିଭ ଫୁସଫୁସ ରୋଗ (COPD)ର ରକ୍ଷଣାବେକ୍ଷଣରେ ବ୍ୟବହୃତ ଏକ ଔଷଧ ।^[୨] ଆଜମା ରୋଗରେ ଏହା ଏକ ପ୍ରଶ୍ୱାସରେ ନିଆଯା‌ଥିବା କର୍ଟିକୋଷ୍ଟେରଏଡ ସହିତ ମିଳିତ ଭାବରେ ବ୍ୟବହୃତ ହୁଏ ।^[୨] ଏହା ବ୍ୟାୟାମ ଜନିତ ବ୍ରୋଙ୍କୋକନଷ୍ଟ୍ରିକ୍ସନ୍ ପାଇଁ ମଧ୍ୟ ବ୍ୟବହୃତ ହୁଏ ।^[୨] ଔଷଧର ପ୍ରଭାବ ପ୍ରାୟ ୩୦ ମିନିଟରେ ଆରମ୍ଭ ହୋଇ ପ୍ରାୟ ୧୨ ଘଣ୍ଟା ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ରହିପାରେ ।^[୨] ^[୩]

ସାଧାରଣ ପାର୍ଶ୍ୱ ପ୍ରତିକ୍ରିୟାରେ ମୁଣ୍ଡବିନ୍ଧା, ନାକରୁ ତରଳ ପଦାର୍ଥ ନିର୍ଗମନ, ଥ୍ରଶ୍, କାଶ ଏବଂ ସ୍ୱରରେ ପରିବର୍ତ୍ତନ ହୋଇପାରେ ।^[୨] ଅନ୍ୟ ପାର୍ଶ୍ୱ ପ୍ରତିକ୍ରିୟାରେ କମ୍ ପୋଟାସିୟମ୍, ଆନାଫାଇଲକ୍ସିସ୍, ବ୍ରୋଙ୍କୋସ୍ପାଜ୍ମ ଏବଂ କ୍ୟୁଟି ବିସ୍ତାର ହୋଇପାରେ ।^[୨] ଗର୍ଭାବସ୍ଥାରେ କିମ୍ବା ସ୍ତନ୍ୟପାନ ସମୟରେ ବ୍ୟବହାର ଯୁକ୍ତିଯୁକ୍ତ ବୋଲି ଧରାଯାଏ ।^[୩] ଏହା ଏକ ଦୀର୍ଘକାଳୀନ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟକ୍ଷମ β<sub id="mwKg">୨</sub> ଆଡ୍ରେନେଜିକ୍ ରିସେପ୍ଟର ଆଗୋନିଷ୍ଟ (LABA) ଔଷଧ ।^[୨]

ସାଲମେଟେରୋଲ ୧୯୮୩ ମସିହାରେ ପ୍ୟାଟେଣ୍ଟ ହୋଇଥିଲା ଏବଂ ୧୯୯୦ରେ ଡାକ୍ତରୀ ବ୍ୟବହାରରେ ଆସିଥିଲା ।^[୪] ଯୁକ୍ତରାଜ୍ୟରେ ୧୨୦ ମାତ୍ରା ଔଷଧର ମୂଲ୍ୟ ୨୦୨୧ ସୁଦ୍ଧା ୨୦୨୧ରେ ମୂଲ୍ୟ ୩୦ ପାଊଣ୍ଡ ଥିଲା ।^[୩] ଯୁକ୍ତରାଷ୍ଟ୍ରରେ ଏହି ରାଶିର ମୂଲ୍ୟ ପ୍ରାୟ ୮୦୦ ଡଲାର ଅଟେ ।^[୫] ଏହା ଫ୍ଲୁଟିକାସୋନ/ ସାଲମେଟେରୋଲ ଭଳି ମଧ୍ୟ ଉପଲବ୍ଧ ।| ^[୩]
