କଣନ‌ଖା ବା ପାରୋନିକିଆ ରୋଗରେ ନ‌ଖ ଚାରିପାଖରେ ଥିବା ଚମର ପ୍ରଦାହ ହୁଏ । [୫] [୬] ଏହା ହଠାତ୍ ଯନ୍ତ୍ରଣା, ଲାଲିମା, ଫୁଲା ଏବଂ ପୁଜ ସହିତ ଉପସ୍ଥାପିତ ହୋଇପାରେ, କିମ୍ବା ଧୀରେ ଧୀରେ ସାମାନ୍ୟ ଦରଜ, ଲାଲିମା, ଏବଂ ନଖ ପରିବର୍ତ୍ତନ ସହିତ ଆରମ୍ଭ ହୋଇପାରେ ।[୨] [୩] ବିଶି ଓ ମଝି ଆଙ୍ଗୁଠି ସାଧାରଣତଃ ଅଧିକ ପ୍ରଭାବିତ ହୋଇଥାଏ, ଯଦିଓ ହାତ ଓ ପାଦର ଅନ୍ୟାନ୍ୟ ଆଙ୍ଗୁଠି ମଧ୍ୟ ଜଡିତ ହୋଇପାରେ ।[୨] [୭] ଏହା ଜଟିଳ ହେଲେ ଆବସେସ୍ ହୋଇପାରେ । [୩]

ଏହା ଜୀବାଣୁ, ଭୂତାଣୁ ବା କବକ ସଂକ୍ରମଣ ହେତୁ ହୋଇପାରେ; ବାରମ୍ବାର ହାତ ଧୋଇଲେ କିମ୍ବା ନଖ କାମୁଡ଼ିଲେ କିମ୍ବା କିଛି ଔଷଧର ପ୍ରତିକ୍ରିୟା ଯୋଗୁ ହୋଇପାରେ ।[୫] ସ୍ଟଫିଲୋକୋକସ ଅରିଅସ ଜୀବାଣୁ ଯୋଗୁ ହେଲେ ସାଧାରଣତଃ ହଠାତ୍ ଆରମ୍ଭ ହୋଇଥାଏ ଓ କାଣ୍ଡିଡା ଆଲବିକାନ୍ଶ କାରଣରୁ ହେଲେ ଧୀରେ ଧୀରେ ଆରମ୍ଭ ହୋଇଥାଏ । [୬] ସାମାନ୍ୟ ଆଘାତରେ ମଧ୍ୟ ଏହି ସଂକ୍ରମଣର ଆଶଙ୍କା ରହିଥାଏ ।[୨] ସାଧାରଣ ପରୀକ୍ଷା କରି ରୋଗ ନିର୍ଣ୍ଣୟ କରାଯାଇପାରେ ।[୩]

ତୀବ୍ର କଣନଖା ସାଧାରଣତଃ ଉଷୁମ ସେକ, ଆଣ୍ଡିବାୟୋଟିକ କିମ୍ବା ଚିରିବା ପରେ ପୂଜ ନିଷ୍କାସନଦ୍ୱାରା ଚିକିତ୍ସା କରାଯାଏ । [୬] [୭] କ୍ରନିକ କଣନଖାରେ କ୍ଲୋଟ୍ରାଇମାଜୋଲ ଓ ବିଟାମେଥସସୋନ ଭଳି ଆଣ୍ଟଫଙ୍ଗାଲ ଓ କର୍ଟିକୋଷ୍ଟିରଏଡ ଦେଇ ଚିକିତ୍ସା କରିବା ସଙ୍ଗେ ସଙ୍ଗେ ମୂଳ କାରଣକୁ ଏଡାଇବାକୁ ଉପଦେଶ ଦିଆଯାଏ । [୨] ଏହା ହାତର ଏକ ସାଧାରଣ ସଂକ୍ରମଣ। [୮] ମହିଳାମାନେ ପୁରୁଷଙ୍କ ତୁଳନାରେ ତିନି ଗୁଣ ଅଧିକ ପ୍ରଭାବିତ ହୁଅନ୍ତି। [୫]
