ଆଟ୍ରୋପିନ ଔଷଧ କୀଟନାଶକ ଓ ସ୍ନାୟୁ ଏଜେଣ୍ଟମାନଙ୍କର ବିଷାକ୍ରିୟା ନିମନ୍ତେ, ଧୀର ହୃଦଗତି ହେଉଥିଲେ ଓ ଅପରେଶନ ସମୟରେ ଲାଳ ନ ବୋହିବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ବ୍ୟବ‌ହାର କରାଯାଏ । ^[୩] ଏହା ଶୀରାରେ ବା ମାଂସପେଶୀରେ ଦିଆଯାଏ । ^[୩] ୟୁଭିଆଇଟିସ ଓ ଆମ୍ବ୍ଲିଓପିଆ ଇତ୍ୟାଦି ଚକ୍ଷୁ ରୋଗ ଚିକିତ୍ସା ନିମନ୍ତେ ଡ୍ରପ/ଟୋପା ଆକାରରେ ଦିଆଯାଏ ।^[୪]ଶୀରାମାଧ୍ୟମ ଇଞ୍ଜେକସନ ଏକ ମିନିଟ ମଧ୍ୟରେ କାମ ଆରମ୍ଭ କରେ ଓ ଅଧ ଘଣ୍ଟା ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ କାମ କରେ । ^[୨] ବିଷାକ୍ତ‌ତା ନିମନ୍ତେ ବ‌ହୁତ ଅଧିକ ମାତ୍ରା ଦରକାର ହୁଏ । ^[୩]

ଏହି ଔଷଧର ସାଧାରଣ ପାର୍ଶ୍ୱ ପ୍ରତିକ୍ରିୟା: ଶୁଖିଲା ପାଟି, ବଡ଼ ଆଖିପୁଅ, ପରିସ୍ରା ଅବରୋଧ, କୋଷ୍ଠ କାଠିନ୍ୟ ଓ ଦୃତ ହୃତ୍‌ସ୍ପନ୍ଦନ ହାର । ଗ୍ଲକୋମା ରୋଗୀଙ୍କୁ ଏହି ଔଷଧ ଦେବା ନିଷେଧ । ^[୩] ଗର୍ଭାବସ୍ଥାରେ ଏହା ବ୍ୟବ‌ହାର କଲେ ଜନ୍ମଗତ ତୃଟି ହୁଏ, ଏହାର ପ୍ରମାଣ ନାହିଁ ବା ଏହା ଉପରେ ଅନୁଶୀଳନ ହୋଇନାହିଁ । ସ୍ତନ୍ୟପାନ ସମୟରେ ଏହା ବିପଦମୁକ୍ତ ହେବା ସମ୍ଭାବନା ଅଛି । ^[୫] ଏହା ଏକା ଆଣ୍ଟିକଲିନର୍ଜିକ(ଆଣ୍ଟିମସ୍କାରିନିକ) ଔଷଧ ଯାହା ପାରାସିମ୍ପାଥେଟିକ ସ୍ନାୟୁ ମଣ୍ଡଳକୁ ବାଧା ଦିଏ । ^[୩]
