ଆଜାଥାଇଓପ୍ରିନ (ଇଂରାଜୀ ଭାଷାରେ Azathioprine ବା AZA), ବିକ୍ରୟ ନାମ ଇମୁରାନ/Imuran) ଏକ ଇମ୍ମ୍ୟୁନୋସପ୍ରେସାଣ୍ଟ ଔସଧ (immunosuppressive medication) ରିଉମାଟଏଡ ଆର୍ଥ୍ରାଇଟିସ, କ୍ରନ୍ ରୋଗ, ଅଲସରେଟିଭ କୋଲାଇଟିସ ରୋଗମାନଙ୍କ ଚିକିତ୍ସାରେ ଓ ବୃକ୍‌କ ପ୍ରତିରୋପଣ (kidney transplant) ପରେ ପ୍ରତିରୋପଣ ପରିତ୍ୟାଗ (rejection) ନ‌କରିବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ଏହି ଔଷଧ ଦିଆଯାଏ ।^[୨]^[୩] ଏହା ପାଟିରେ ବା ଶିରାଭ୍ୟନ୍ତର ଇଞ୍ଜେକସନ (injected into a vein) ଆକାରରେ ଦିଆଯାଏ ।^[୩]

ଆଜାଥାଇଓପ୍ରିନର ପାର୍ଶ୍ୱ ପ୍ରତିକ୍ରିୟାରେ ଅସ୍ଥିମଜ୍ଜା ଦମନ (bone marrow suppression) ଓ ବାନ୍ତି (vomiting) ହୋଇପାରେ । ଥାଇଓପ୍ୟୁରିନ ଏସ-ମିଥାଇଲଟ୍ରନ୍ସଫରେଜର (thiopurine S-methyltransferase) ଜେନେଟିକ ଅଭାବ (genetic) ଥିଲେ ଏହି ଅସ୍ଥିମଜ୍ଜା ଦମନ ହୁଏ । ଅଧିକ ଲିମ୍ଫୋମା ରୋଗ ସଙ୍କଟ ମଧ୍ୟ ରହିପାରେ । ଗର୍ଭାବସ୍ଥାରେ ଏହା ଶିଶୁର କ୍ଷତି କରିପାରେ ।^[୩] ଏହା ଏକ ପ୍ୟୁରିନ ଆନାଲଗ (purine analogue) ଓ ଆଣ୍ଟିମେଟାବୋଲାଇଟର (antimetabolite) ଔଷଧ । ଜୀବକୋଷରେ ଡିଏନଏ (DNA) ଓ ଆରଏନଏ (RNA) ତିଆରିକୁ ଏହି ଔଷଧ ୬-ଥାଇଓଗୁଆନିନ (6-thioguanine) ମାଧ୍ୟମରେ ଭାଙ୍ଗିଦିଏ ।^[୩]^[୪]
