ସୋଟାଲୋଲ (ଇଂରାଜୀ ଭାଷାରେ Sotalol) ଏକ ଔଷଧ ଯାହା ଅନିୟମିତ ହୃତ୍ ସ୍ପନ୍ଦନର (abnormal heart rhythms) ଚିକିତ୍ସା ଓ ପ୍ରତିଷେଧ ନିମନ୍ତେ ବ୍ୟବ‌ହୃତ ହୁଏ । .^[୨] ଉଲ୍ଲେଖନୀୟ ଅନିୟମିତ ହୃତ୍ ସ୍ପନ୍ଦନ ଥିଲେ ଓ ସମ୍ଭାବ୍ୟ ସାଂଘାତିକ ପାର୍ଶ୍ୱ ପ୍ରତିକ୍ରିୟା ଆଶଙ୍କା ଥିଲେ ଏହି ଔଷଧ ଦେବେକୁ ସୁପାରିସ କରାଯାଏ ।^[୨] ଦୀର୍ଘକାଳୀନ ବ୍ୟବ‌ହାର ଫଳରେ ଏହି ରୋଗ ଯୋଗୁ ହେଉଥିବା ମୃତ୍ୟୁ ସଙ୍କଟ କମିବା ପ୍ରମାଣ ମିଳୁନି ।^[୨] ଏହା ପାଟିରେ ବା ଶିରାଭ୍ୟନ୍ତର ଇଞ୍ଜେକସନ (injection into a vein) ଆକାରରେ ଦିଆଯାଏ ।^[୨]

ସୋଟାଲୋଲର ସାଧାରଣ ପାର୍ଶ୍ୱ ପ୍ରତିକ୍ରିୟାରେ ଧୀର ହୃଦ୍‌ଗତି (slow heart rate), ଛାତି ଯନ୍ତ୍ରଣା (chest pain), ଅଳ୍ପ ରକ୍ତ ଚାପ (low blood pressure), ଥକ୍କା ଅନୁଭବ, ମୁଣ୍ଡ ଓଜନିଆ, ଅଣନିଶ୍ୱାସୀ, ଦୃଷ୍ଟି ସମସ୍ୟା, ବାନ୍ତି ଓ ଫୁଲା (swelling) ହୋଇପାରେ ।^[୨] ଅନ୍ୟାନ୍ୟ ସାଂଘାତିକ ପ୍ରତିକ୍ରିୟା ହେଲେ ପ୍ରଲମ୍ବିତ କ୍ୟୁଟି ବା ବ୍ରୋଙ୍କୋସ୍ପାଜ୍ମ ହୋଇପାରେ । ^[୩] ସୋଟାଲୋଲ ଏକ ବିଟା ବ୍ଲକର ନନ୍ ସିଲେକ୍ଟିଭ ଏଜେଣ୍ଟ (beta-adrenergic receptor blocker), ଯାହାର କ୍ଲାସ ୨ (class II) ଓ କ୍ଲାସ ୩ (class III antiarrhythmic) ଗୁଣ ଥାଏ । ^[୨]

ସୋଟାଲୋଲ ସନ ୧୯୬୪ରେ ବର୍ଣ୍ଣନା କରାଯାଇଥିଲା ଓ ସନ ୧୯୭୪ରେ ଡାକ୍ତରୀ ବ୍ୟବ‌ହାର ନିମନ୍ତେ ଯୁକ୍ତରାଷ୍ଟ୍ର ଆମେରିକାରେ ସ୍ୱୀକୃତ ହୋଇଥିଲା ।^[୪] ଏହା ଜେନେରିକ ଔଷଧ ନାମରେ (generic medication) ବିକ୍ରୟ ହୁଏ ।^[୩] ସନ ୨୦୧୯ରେ ସଂଯୁକ୍ତ ରାଷ୍ଟ୍ରରେ (United Kingdom) ଏନଏଚଏସକୁ (NHS) ଏହାର ଏକ ମାସର ଡୋଜ ପିଛା ପ୍ରାୟ ୫ ପାଉଣ୍ଡ ଖର୍ଚ୍ଚ କରିବାକୁ ପଡ଼ୁଥିଲା ।^[୩] ଯୁକ୍ତରାଷ୍ଟ୍ର ଆମେରିକାରେ ଏହାର ଏକ ମାସ ଡୋଜର ହୋଲସେଲ ମୂଲ୍ୟ ୧୧ ଆମେରିକୀୟ ଡଲାର ଥିଲା ।^[୫] ସନ ୨୦୧୬ରେ ଏହାର ୧ ନିୟୁତରୁ ଅଧିକ ପ୍ରେସକ୍ରିପସନ ହୋଇ ସର୍ବାଧିକ ପ୍ରେସକ୍ରିସନ ତାଲିକାର ୨୭୦ତମ ସ୍ଥାନରେ ଥଲା ।^[୬]
