Now commons dated is a template to categorise tagged files into Category:Wikipedia files on Wikimedia Commons, or to Category:Wikipedia files with the same name on Wikimedia Commons, if no parameters are given.

Use {{subst:ncd}} or {{subst:ncd|File:New filename.png}}.

This template is a self-reference. This template is not useful for substitution.
