ସ୍ୱାସ୍ଥ୍ୟ
ସ୍ୱାସ୍ଥ୍ୟ ଶବ୍ଦଟି ଜୀବନ୍ତ ପ୍ରାଣୀର କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ କ୍ଷମତା ବା ମେଟାବୋଲିକ ଦକ୍ଷତାର ସ୍ତରକୁ ଦର୍ଶାଏ । ମାନବ କ୍ଷେତ୍ରରେ ଏହା ବ୍ୟକ୍ତି ବା ଗୋଷ୍ଠୀର ଶାରୀରିକ, ମାନସିକ ଓ ସାମାଜିକ ଆହ୍ୱାନ ବା ଚାଲେଞ୍ଜକୁ ସମ୍ମୁଖୀନ ହେବାର ଦକ୍ଷତାକୁ ବୁଝାଏ ।[୧] ବିଶ୍ୱ ସ୍ୱାସ୍ଥ୍ୟ ସଂଗଠନର (WHO) ୧୯୪୮ ମସିହା କନସ୍ଟିଚ୍ୟୁସନରେ ଗୃହିତ ସଂଜ୍ଞା ଅନୁସାରେ ଏହା ଏକ ସମ୍ପୁର୍ଣ୍ଣ ଶାରୀରିକ, ମାନସିକ ଓ ସାମାଜିକ ଭଲ-ଅବସ୍ଥା ଓ କେବଳ ରୋଗ ତଥା ଅକ୍ଷମତାର ଅଭାବ ନୁହେଁ ।[୨][୩] ଏହି ସଂଜ୍ଞା ଗ୍ରହଣ କରିବାରେ ମଧ୍ୟ ମତଭେଦ ରହିଛି ବିଶେଷତଃ ଏହାର କାର୍ଯ୍ୟକାରୀ ମୂଲ୍ୟ ଓ "ସମ୍ପୁର୍ଣ୍ଣ" ଶବ୍ଦ ଉପରେ ।[୪][୫] ଅନ୍ୟ କେତେକ ସଂଜ୍ଞା ପ୍ରସ୍ତାବ ଥିବା ବେଳେ ଗୋଟିଏ ସାମ୍ପ୍ରତିକ ସଂଜ୍ଞା ସ୍ୱାସ୍ଥ୍ୟ ଓ ବ୍ୟକ୍ତିଗତ ସନ୍ତୋଷକୁ ସହମତି ମିଳିଛି । [୬][୭] ବିଭିନ୍ନ ବର୍ଗୀକରଣ ପଦ୍ଧତି ମଧ୍ୟରେ ବିଶ୍ୱ ସ୍ୱାସ୍ଥ୍ୟ ସଂଗଠନ ଆନ୍ତର୍ଜାତିୟ ବର୍ଗୀକରଣ ପରିବାର (WHO Family of International Classifications), ଆନ୍ତର୍ଜାତୀୟ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟକାରୀତା, ଅକ୍ଷମତା ଓ ସୁସ୍ଥତା ବର୍ଗୀକରଣ(International Classification of Functioning ବାICF), ଆନ୍ତର୍ଜାତୀୟ ରୋଗ ବର୍ଗୀକରଣ (International Classification of Diseases ବା ICD) ସଂସ୍ଥାମାନଙ୍କଦ୍ୱାରା ସାଧାରଣତଃ ସ୍ୱାସ୍ଥ୍ୟର ମାପକାଠି ଓ ସଂଜ୍ଞା ନିରୁପଣ ନିମନ୍ତେ ବ୍ୟବହାର କରାଯାଉଛି ।
ବ୍ୟବସ୍ଥିତ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟକ୍ରମ ଅନୁଯାୟୀ ସ୍ୱାସ୍ଥ୍ୟସେବୀମାନେ (health care provider) ସ୍ୱାସ୍ଥ୍ୟ ସମସ୍ୟାକୁ ଆରୋଗ୍ୟ କରନ୍ତି, ପ୍ରତିଷେଧ କରନ୍ତି ଓ ସୁନ୍ଦର ସ୍ୱାସ୍ଥ୍ୟ ଗଠନ ନିମନ୍ତେ ଉପଦେଶ ଦିଅନ୍ତି । ସୁସ୍ଥ ଶବ୍ଦଟି ଅନ୍ୟ ପ୍ରସଙ୍ଗ ଅର୍ଥରେ ମଧ୍ୟ ବ୍ୟବହାର ହେଉଛି ଯେପରିକି ସୁସ୍ଥ ସମାଜ, ସୁସ୍ଥ ଶହର, ସୁସ୍ଥ ପରିବେଶ ଇତ୍ୟାଦି । ସ୍ୱାସ୍ଥ୍ୟ ସେବା ବ୍ୟତୀତ ଆହୁରି ଅନେକ କାରକ ଯେପରିକି ବ୍ୟକ୍ତିର ଜୀବନଚର୍ଯ୍ୟା, ଅର୍ଥନୈତିକ, ସାମାଜିକ, ଆଧ୍ୟାତ୍ମିକ ଓ ବ୍ୟକ୍ତିଗତ ପୃଷ୍ଠଭୂମି ଯେଉଁଗୁଡ଼ିକ ସ୍ୱାସ୍ଥାବସ୍ଥାକୁ ନିୟନ୍ତ୍ରଣ କରନ୍ତି । ଅନୁଶୀଳନରୁ ଜଣାଯାଏ ଯେ ମାନସିକ ଚାପ ସ୍ୱାସ୍ଥ୍ୟ ସମସ୍ୟା ସୃଷ୍ଟି କରିପାରେ । [୮]
