Usage
ଛାଞ୍ଚ:ISO 639 name ja is part of a series that resolves the ISO 639-1, ISO 639-2 and ISO 639-3 codes to language names.
It is used by {{Translated page}} with language code ja, for example: {{Translated page |ja |name of page at Japanese Wikipedia}}. This template is used to generate a link to the Japanese Wikipedia and could be used to include pages in Category:Pages translated from Japanese Wikipedia (may be created using {{Translated sub-cat |ja}}).
Former usage
The following templates now use Module:Lang, which stores the language code and name data in Module:Language/data/iana languages, Module:Language/data/ISO 639-3, and Module:Language/data/wp languages.
- {{Lang|ja| some text in Japanese}} wraps the text with <span lang="ja"> and could be used by the template {{Lang}} with language code ja to include articles in Category:Articles containing Japanese-language text (may be created using {{Category articles containing non-English-language text |Japanese |ja}}). Also available is {{Lang-ja |some text in Japanese}} which displays as Japanese: some text in Japanese.
- {{R from other language|ja|("to" language code)}} includes pages in Category:Redirects from Japanese-language terms (may be created using {{Redirect from alternative language category}}).
- {{R from alternative language|("from" language code)|ja}} includes pages in Category:Redirects to Japanese-language terms (may be created using {{Redirect to alternative language category}}).
