The factual accuracy of this map or the file name is disputed.
Reason: No source for the boundaries. The borders of the historical Kalinga region varied with the boundary of its ruling kingdoms, but Kalinga is generally defined as the region between Mahanadi and Godavari rivers. This map extends its boundaries all the way up to present-day West Bengal, without mentioning the dynasty or the time period when (if at all) this happened. Also, the western border seems completely arbitrary.
This is a retouched picture, which means that it has been digitally altered from its original version. Modifications: Overlaid with approximate boundary of ancient Kalinga. The original can be viewed here: India rivers and lakes map.svg: . Modifications made by Aymatth2.
