ବୋର୍ରା ଗୁମ୍ଫା ,କୁ ତେଲୁଗୁ ଭାଷାରେ "ବୋର୍ରା ଗୁହାଲୁ" ମଧ୍ୟ କୁହାଯାଇଥାଏ , ଭାରତୀୟ ରାଜ୍ୟ ଆନ୍ଧ୍ରପ୍ରଦେଶର ଅନନ୍ଥଗିରି ଅଞ୍ଚଳରେ ଥିବା ଏକ ଗୁମ୍ଫା । ତେଲୁଗୁ ଭାଷାରେ 'ବୋର୍ରା : କହିଲେ ଖୋଦିତ ହେଇଥିବାକୁ ବୁଝାଏ ଓ "ଗୁହାଲୁ" କହିଲେ ଗୁମ୍ଫାକୁ ବୁଝାଏ । ତେଣୁ ଏହା ଖୋଦିତ ହେଇଥିବା ଗୁମ୍ଫାକୁ ବୁଝାଏ ।ଏହି ଗୁମ୍ଫା ଭାରତର ଏକ ବୃହତ୍ତମ ଗୁମ୍ଫା । ଏହା ସମୁଦ୍ରପତ୍ତାନ ଠାରୁ 2,313 ଫୁଟ ଉପରେ ରହିଛି । ଗୁମ୍ଫା ଗୁଡିକ ଏଠାରେ ପ୍ରାୟତଃ ଚୂନ ପ୍ରସ୍ତର [୧][୨]ରେ ରହିଥାଏ ଓ ସ୍ଥଳ ବିଶେଷରେ ଏହା 260 ଫୁଟ ତଳକୁ ରହିଥାଏ । ଏହା ଭାରତର ଗଭୀର ତମ ଗୁମ୍ଫା । [୩][୪]

ଆବିଷ୍କାର 

1807 ମସିହାରେ ବ୍ରିଟିଶ ଭାରତୀୟ ଭୌଗୋଳିକ ସର୍ଭେ ବିଭାଗ ତରଫରୁ ୱିଲିୟମ କିଙ୍ଗ ଏହାକୁ ଆବିଷ୍କାର କରିଥିଲେ ।  .[୫]

କିମ୍ବଦନ୍ତୀ 

 ଏହି ଅଞ୍ଚଳରେ ରହୁଥିବା ଆଦିମ ଅଧିବାସୀ ( ଜଟାପୁ , ପୋରଜା , କୋଣ୍ଡାଡୋରା , ନୁକାଡୋରା ବାଲ୍ମୀକି  ଜାତିର )  ଙ୍କ ଅନୁସାରେ ଅନେକ ଲୋକ କଥା ରହିଛି । ଏକ କଥାନୁସାରେ ଏକ ଗାଈ ଗୁମ୍ଫା ନିକଟରେ ଚରୁ ଥିବା ବେଳେ 200 ଫୁଟ ତଳକୁ ପଡିଗଲା । ଗାଈ ଜଗୁଆଳ ପିଲା ଆସି ସେହି ଗରତା ଭିତରକୁ ଶିବ ଲିଙ୍ଗା ଆକାରର ଏକ ପଥର ଶିବଙ୍କୁ ସ୍ମରଣ କରି ଗାଈକୁ ବଞ୍ଚାଇବାକୁ ପ୍ରତଥାନ ପୂର୍ବକ ପକାଇଲା । ଭଗବାନ ଶିବ ସତକୁ ସତ ଗାଈକୁ ବଞ୍ଚେଇ ଆଣିଲେ । ସେହି ଦିନରୁ ସେମାନେ ସେହି ସ୍ଥଳରେ ଏକ ସାନ ଶିବ ମନ୍ଦିର ନିର୍ମାଣ କରିଥିଲେ । ତାହା ପରେ ଅନେକ ଭକ୍ତ ସେଟାକୁ ଆସି ଉପାସନା କଲେ ।.[୫]
