ସୂର୍ଯ୍ୟ ହେଉଛନ୍ତି ସକଳ ଶକ୍ତିର ଆଧାର । ସେ ହେଉଛନ୍ତି ଜୀବଜଗତର ପାଳନ କର୍ତ୍ତା।ସମସ୍ତ ଜୀବଜନ୍ତୁ ଅପେକ୍ଷା କରିଥାନ୍ତି ସୂର୍ଯ୍ୟୋଦୟର ସ୍ପର୍ଶ ପାଇବା ପାଇଁ।ତାଙ୍କ ବିନା ଜୀବଜଗତର ଅସ୍ତିତ୍ୱ ନାହିଁ।ବିଜ୍ଞାନର ଅବଦାନ ଅତୁଳନୀୟ କିନ୍ତୁ ସମ୍ଭବତଃ ଦେଖିବାକୁ ଗଲେ ଆମେ ଦେଖିବା ପ୍ରକୃତରେ ଏହା ସୂର୍ଯ୍ୟଙ୍କର ଯେଗୁଁ ସମ୍ଭବ।

କୌଣସି ବସ୍ତୁଠାରୁ ଆଲୋକ ଆସି ଆମ ଆଖିରେ ପଡ଼ିଲେ ଆମେ ସେହି ବସ୍ତୁକୁ ଦେଖିପାରୁ । ବସ୍ତୁ ଉପରୁ ଆଲୋକ ଆସି ଆମ ପାଖରେ ପହଁଞ୍ଚିବା ପାଇଁ କିଛି ସମୟ ଲାଗେ । କାରଣ ଆଲୋକର ନିର୍ଦ୍ଦିଷ୍ଟ ବେଗ ରହିଛି । ଆମେ ଚାଲି ଚାଲି ଗଲେ ଏକ ଘଣ୍ଟାରେ ଯିବା ୧୦ କି ୧୨ କିଲୋମିଟର । ସାଇକେଲ ଚଢ଼ି ଗଲେ ଏକ ଘଣ୍ଟାରେ ଯିବା ୨୦ କିଲୋମିଟର । ବସ୍ରେ ଗଲେ ଏକ ଘଣ୍ଟାରେ ଯିବା ୫୦ କିଲୋମିଟର । ଟ୍ରେନ୍ ଏକ ଘଣ୍ଟାରେ ଯାଏ ୧୦୦ କିଲୋମିଟର । ଉଡାଜାହାଜ ଏକ ଘଣ୍ଟାରେ ଯାଏ ୫୦୦ କିଲୋମିଟର । କିନ୍ତୁ ଆଲୋକ ମାତ୍ର ଏକ ସେକେଣ୍ଡରେ ଯାଏ ୩ ଲକ୍ଷ କିଲୋମିଟର । ସତ କହିଲେ ଆଲବର୍ଟ ଆଇନଷ୍ଟାଇନଙ୍କ ମତରେ ଆଲୋକର ବେଗ ସର୍ବାଧିକ । ତଥାପି ଆଲୋକର ବେଗ ଯେତେ ହେଉନା କାହିଁକି ଅସୀମ ନୁହେଁ । ଅର୍ଥାତ୍ ଆଲୋକ କିଛି ଦୂରତା ଅତିକ୍ରମ କରିବା ସକାଶେ ସମୟ ଦରକାର । ସେଇୟା ହୁଏ । ସୂର୍ଯ୍ୟଠାରୁ କିରଣ ଆସି ଆମ ପାଖରେ ପହଁଞ୍ଚିବା ପାଇଁ କିଛି ସମୟ ଲାଗେ ।

ସୁର୍ଯ୍ୟଠାରୁ ଆମ ପୃଥିବୀର ଦୂରତା ୧୫ କୋଟି କିଲୋମିଟର । ସୂଯ୍ୟପୃଷ୍ଠରୁ କିରଣ ଆସି ଆମ ପାଖରେ ପହଁଞ୍ଚିବା ପାଇଁ ପ୍ରାୟ ୫୦୦ ସେକେଣ୍ଡ ବା ୮ ମିନିଟ୍ ୨୦ ସେକେଣ୍ଡ ସମୟ ଲାଗେ । ତେଣୁ ଯେଉଁ ସୁର୍ଯ୍ୟକୁ ଆମେ ଦେଖୁ, ତାହା ସେତେବେଳର ସୁର୍ଯ୍ୟ ନୁହେଁ । ବରଂ ୮ ମିନିଟ୍ ୨୦ ସେକେଣ୍ଡ ତଳର ସୁର୍ଯ୍ୟ । ସକାଳ ୮ଟା ବେଳେ ସୂର୍ଯ୍ୟପୃଷ୍ଠରୁ ବାହାରିଥିବା ଆଲୋକ ୮ ମିନିଟ୍ ୨୦ ସେକେଣ୍ଡ ପରେ ଅର୍ଥାତ୍ ୮ଟା ୮ ମିନିଟ୍ ୨୦ ସେକେଣ୍ଡ ବେଳେ ଆସି ଆମଠାରେ ପହଁଞ୍ଚେ । ତେଣୁ ଆମେ ସବୁବେଳେ ୮ ମିନିଟ୍ ୨୦ ସେକେଣ୍ଡ ତଳର ବାସି ସୂର୍ଯ୍ୟ ଦେଖୁ । ପୃଥିବୀରେ ରହି ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନର ସୂର୍ଯ୍ୟକୁ ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନ ଦର୍ଶନ କରିବାର ଭାଗ୍ୟ ଆମର ନାହିଁ । ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନର ସୂର୍ଯ୍ୟକୁ ଦର୍ଶନ କରିବା ସକାଶେ ଆମକୁ ପୁଣି ୮ ମିନିଟ୍ ୨୦ ସେକେଣ୍ଡ ଅପେକ୍ଷା କରିବାକୁ ପଡ଼ିବ ।
