ଆଇସୋଫ୍ଲୁରେନ (ଇଂରାଜୀ ଭାଷାରେ Isoflurane, ବିକ୍ରୟ ନାମ ଫୋରେନ/ Forane ଏକ ସର୍ବାଙ୍ଗ ନିଶ୍ଚେତକ (general anesthetic) । ନିଶ୍ଚେତନ (anesthesia) ଆରମ୍ଭ କରିବାକୁ ଓ ବଜାୟ ରଖିବାକୁ ଏହା ଦିଆଯାଏ ।^[୧] ଆଇସୋଫ୍ଲୁରେନ ଶ୍ୱାସନଳୀ ଉତ୍ତେଜକ ହୋଇଥିବାରୁ ଅଧିକାଂଶ ସମୟରେ ଏହା ସ‌ହିତ ଅନ୍ୟ ଔଷଧ ଦିଆଯାଏ ।^[୨]^[୩] ଏହା ଆଘ୍ରାଣ (inhalation) ପଦ୍ଧତିରେ ଦିଆଯାଏ ।^[୧]

ଆଇସୋଫ୍ଲୁରେନର ପାର୍ଶ୍ୱ ପ୍ରତିକ୍ରିୟାରେ ଶ୍ୱାସକ୍ରିୟା ମାନ୍ଦା (decreased effort to breathe ବା (respiratory depression) ହୁଏ, ନିମ୍ନ ରକ୍ତଚାପ (low blood pressure) ଓ ଅନିୟମିତ ହୃତ୍ ସ୍ପନ୍ଦନ ଆଦି ଲକ୍ଷଣ ଦେଖାଯାଏ ।^[୨] ସାଂଘାତିକ ପାର୍ଶ୍ୱ ପ୍ରତିକ୍ରିୟା ହେଲେ ମାଲିଗନାଣ୍ଟ ହାଇପରଥର୍ମିଆ (malignant hyperthermia) ଓ ହାଇପରକାଲେମିଆ ବା ମାତ୍ରାଧିକ ରକ୍ତ ପଟାସିଅମ ସ୍ତର ହୋଇଯାଏ ।^[୧] ମାଲିଗନାଣ୍ଟ ହାଇପରଥର୍ମିଆ ରୋଗୀକୁ ବା ତାହାର ପରିବାରରେ ଏହି ରୋଗ ଇତିହାସ ଥିଲେ ଏହି ଔଷଧ ଦିଆଯାଏନାହିଁ ।^[୨] ଗର୍ଭସ୍ଥ ଶିଶୁ ପ୍ରତି ଏହାର ନିରାପତ୍ତା ଜଣାନଥିଲେ ମଧ୍ୟ ସିଜରିଆନ ସେକସନ (cesarean section) ଅପରେଶନ ବେଳେ ଦେଇହୁଏ ।^[୧]^[୨] ହାଲୋଜେନେଟେଡ ଇଥର (halogenated ether) ଶ୍ରେଣୀର ଏହା ଏକ ଔଷଧ । ^[୪]
