ବୁପ୍ରେନର୍ଫିନ (ଇଂରାଜୀ ଭାଷାରେ Buprenorphine) ଔଷଧ ଅନେକ ରକମର ବ୍ରାଣ୍ଡ ନାମରେ ବିକ୍ରି ହୁଏ ଯେପରିକି ସୁବୁଟେକ୍ସ; ଏହା ଏକ ଓପିଅଏଡ ଔଷଧ ଯାହା ଓପିଅଏଡ ନିଶାଗ୍ରସ୍ତ (opioid addiction), ଅକ୍ୟୁଟ ଯନ୍ତ୍ରଣା ଓ କ୍ରନିକ ଯନ୍ତ୍ରଣା (chronic pain) ଉପଶମ ନିମନ୍ତେ ବ୍ୟବ‌ହାର ହୁଏ । ^[୩] ଏହାକୁ ଜିଭ ତଳେ (under the tongue), ଇଞ୍ଜେକସନ (injection), ଚର୍ମ ପ୍ୟାଚ (skin patch) ବା ମେଡିକାଲ ଇମ୍ପ୍ଲାଣ୍ଟ (implant) ଆକାରରେ ରୋଗୀକୁ ଦିଆଯାଏ ।^[୩]^[୪] ନିଶାଗ୍ରସ୍ତ ଲୋକଙ୍କର ଉଇଥଡ୍ରଆଲ ଲକ୍ଷଣ ଆରମ୍ଭ ହେବାର ୨ ଦିନ ନିମନ୍ତେ ଏହା ଡାକ୍ତରୀ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟବେକ୍ଷଣ ସାହାଯ୍ୟରେ ଦିଆଯାଏ । ^[୩] ଦୀର୍ଘସ୍ଥାୟୀ ନିଶାଗ୍ରସ୍ତ ଲୋକ ନିମନ୍ତେ ବୁପ୍ରେନର୍ଫିନ/ନାଲୋକ୍ସୋନ (buprenorphine/naloxone) ନିଶ୍ରଣ ଦିଆଯାଏ ।^[୩] ଏକ ଘଣ୍ଟା ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଯନ୍ତ୍ରଣା ଉପଶମ ହୋଇଯାଏ ଓ ପ୍ରଭାବ ୨୪ଘଣ୍ଟା ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ରହେ ।^[୩]

ଏହାର ପାର୍ଶ୍ୱ ପ୍ରତିକ୍ରିୟାରେ କମ୍ ଶ୍ୱାସକ୍ରିୟା (respiratory depression/ decreased breathing), ନିଦ୍ରାଳୁ, ଆଡ୍ରେନାଲ ଇନସଫିସିଏନ୍ସି (adrenal insufficiency), କ୍ୟୁଟି ପ୍ରୋଲୋଙ୍ଗେସନ (QT prolongation), ନିମ୍ନ ରକ୍ତଚାପ (low blood pressure), ଆଲର୍ଜି ପ୍ରତିକ୍ରିୟା (allergic reaction), ଓ ଓପିଅଏଡ ନିଶାସକ୍ତ ଆଦି ସମ୍ଭାବନା ଥାଏ । ^[୩] ସିଜର ବା ବାତ (seizures) ମାରିବା ଇତିହାସ ଥିଲେ ଅଧିକ ବାତ ସଙ୍କଟ ରହେ ।^[୩] ଅନ୍ୟାନ୍ୟ ଓପାଏଡ ଅପେକ୍ଷା ବୁପ୍ରେନର୍ଫିନରେ କମ୍ ସାଂଘାତିକ ଓପିଅଏଡ ଉଇଥଡ୍ରଆଲ (Opioid withdrawal) ଦେଖାଯାଏ ।^[୩] ଗର୍ଭାବସ୍ଥାରେ ଏହାର ନିରାପତ୍ତା ପ୍ରସଙ୍ଗ ସ୍ପଷ୍ଟ ନୁହେଁ ଓ ସ୍ତନ୍ୟପାନ (breastfeeding) ସମୟରେ ଏହା ଦେବାକୁ ବାରଣ କରାଯାଏ ।^[୩] ବିଭିନ୍ନ ଓପିଅଏଡ ରିସେପ୍ଟରମାନଙ୍କୁ ବିଭିନ୍ନ ଭାବରେ ଏହା ପ୍ରଭାବିତ କରେ । ^[୩] ରିସେପ୍ଟର ଅନୁସାରେ ଏହା ଆଗୋନିସ୍ଟ (en:agonist) ବା ପାର୍ସିଆଲ ଅଗୋନିସ୍ଟ (partial agonist) ବା ଆଣ୍ଟାଗୋନିସ୍ଟ (antagonist) ଭାବରେ କାମ କରେ । ^[୩]

ସନ ୧୯୮୧ରେ ପ୍ରଥମେ ଯୁକ୍ତରାଷ୍ଟ୍ର ଆମେରିକାରେ ବୁପ୍ରେନର୍ଫିନ ବ୍ୟବ‌ହାରକୁ ସ୍ୱୀକୃତି ଦିଆଗଲା ।^[୩] ସେଠାରେ ସନ ୨୦୧୨ରେ ପ୍ରାୟ ୯.୩ ନିୟୁତ ବୁପ୍ରେନର୍ଫିନ ପ୍ରେସକ୍ରିପସନ ଲେଖାଯାଇଥିଲା ।^[୫] ଫୁର୍ତ୍ତି (high) ନିମନ୍ତେ ମଧ୍ୟ ଏହା ଇଞ୍ଜେକସନ ବା ନାସା ପଥରେ ଦିଆଯାଏ ।^[୫] ହିରୋଇନ (heroin) ବଦଳରେ ମଧ୍ୟ ଏହା ବେଳେ ବେଳେ ଦିଆଯାଏ ।^[୫] ଯୁକ୍ତରାଷ୍ଟ୍ର ଆମେରିକାରେ ଏହା ନିୟନ୍ତ୍ରଣ ଆକ୍ଟ Schedule III ଅନୁଯାୟୀ ଏକ ନିୟନ୍ତ୍ରିତ ଦ୍ରବ୍ୟ controlled substance.^[୫] ଯୁକ୍ତରାଷ୍ଟ୍ର ଆମେରିକାରେ ଦୈନିକ ଡୋଜର ହୋଲସେଲ ମୂଲ୍ୟ ପ୍ରାୟ ୦.୮୬ରୁ ୧.୩୨ ଆମେରିକୀୟ ଡଲାର ।^[୬]
