ଇଂରାଜୀରେ ନାନର ସର୍ବପ୍ରଥମ ରୂପ 1810 ମସିହାରୁ "ଉଇଲିୟମ ଟୁକେ"ଙ୍କ ଯାତ୍ରା ସମୟରୁ ରହିଛି ।[୫] ପାର୍ସୀୟନ ଭାଷା ଶବ୍ଦ ନୈନ ରୁଟି, ମଧ୍ୟ ଫରାସୀରେ ଏନ ଏନ ରୁଟି, ପାର୍ଥିୟନ ଭାଷାରେ ଏନ ଏନ ଏନ ରୁଟି , ବଲୁଚି ଭାଷାରେ ନାଗନ ରୁଟି ଏବଂ ସଗଦିୟନ ଭାଷାରେ ଏନ ଆଈ ଏନ ଏନ ରୁଟି ଭୋଜନ ରୂପେ ପ୍ରମାଣିତ ହୋଇଥାଏ ।[୬]

ନାନର ଏକ ବ୍ୟାପକ ବିତରଣ ରହିଛି, ଯେପରି ମଧ୍ୟ ଏସିଆ ଏବଂ ଦକ୍ଷିଣ ଏସିଆରେ କୁହାଯାଉଥିବା ବହୁ ପ୍ରକାରର ଭାଷାରେ ଉଧାର ନିଆଯାଇଛି , ଯେଉଁଠାରେ ସାଧାରଣତଃ ଏକ ପ୍ଲେଟବ୍ରେଟକୁ ସନ୍ଦର୍ଭିତ କରାଯାଇଥାଏ । ବର୍ତନୀ ନାନ 1979 ମସିହା ପୂର୍ବରୁ ପ୍ରମାଣିତ ହୋଇଥାଏ ,[୭] ଏବଂ ତା'ପରେ ସାମାନ୍ୟ ଇଂରାଜୀ ବର୍ତନୀ ହୋଇଯାଇଛି ।
