ପାଟିରେ ଔଷଧ ନେଲେ ସାଧାରଣ ପାର୍ଶ୍ୱ ପ୍ରତିକ୍ରିୟାରେ ଉଦ୍‌ବେଗ, ଶୋଇବାରେ ଅସୁବିଧା ଏବଂ ବିରକ୍ତି ଭାବ ହୋଇପାରେ ।^[୨] ସାଧାରଣ ପାର୍ଶ୍ୱ ପ୍ରତିକ୍ରିୟା, ଯେତେବେଳେ ଆଖି ବୁନ୍ଦା ଭାବରେ ବ୍ୟବହାର କଲାବେଳେ ଆଖି ଲାଲ ଦେଖାଯାଇପାରେ, ନାକରୁ ପାଣି ପ୍ରବାହିତ ଏବଂ ମୁଣ୍ଡବିନ୍ଧା ହୋଇପାରେ ।^[୩] ଗର୍ଭାବସ୍ଥାରେ ବ୍ୟବହାର ପ୍ରାୟ ସୁପାରିଶ କରାଯାଏ ନାହିଁ, କିନ୍ତୁ ଏହାଦ୍ୱାରା କୌଣସି କ୍ଷତି ହେବାର ପ୍ରମାଣ ନାହିଁ ।^[୨] ଏହା ଏକ ଏଚ_୧-ଆଣ୍ଟିହିଷ୍ଟାମିନ ଏବଂ ମାଷ୍ଟ ସେଲ ଷ୍ଟାବିଲାଇଜର ଔଷଧ ।^[୩]

୧୯୭୦ ମସିହାରେ କିଟୋଟିଫେନ ପେଟେଣ୍ଟ୍ ହୋଇଥିଲା ଏବଂ ୧୯୭୬ରେ ଚିକିତ୍ସା ବ୍ୟବହାରରେ ଆସିଥିଲା ।^[୪] ଯୁକ୍ତରାଜ୍ୟରେ ୧ମିଗ୍ରା ବିଶିଷ୍ଟ ୬୦ଟି ବଟିକାର ମୂଲ୍ୟ ୮ ପାଉଣ୍ଡ ।^[୨] ଯୁକ୍ତରାଷ୍ଟ୍ରରେ ୫ ମିଲି ଆଖି ବୁନ୍ଦା ବୋତଲର ମୂଲ୍ୟ ପ୍ରାୟ ୭ ଡଲାର ଅଟେ ।^[୫]
