ଶ୍ରୀ ଅରବିନ୍ଦ (ବଙ୍ଗାଳୀ - শ্রী অরবিন্দ - Sri Ôrobindo) ହେଉଛନ୍ତି ଏକାଧାରରେ ଜଣେ ଯୋଗୀ, ଗୁରୁ, କ୍ରାନ୍ତିକାରୀ, ସ୍ୱାଧୀନତା ସଂଗ୍ରାମୀ, ଦାର୍ଶନିକ ତଥା କବି ।[୨][୩] ସେ ୧୫ ଅଗଷ୍ଟ ୧୮୭୨ ମସିହାରେ ଇଂରେଜ ଶାସନାଧୀନ ଭାରତର କଲିକତା ନଗରରେ ଭୂମିଷ୍ଠ ହୋଇଥିଲେ । ମାନବ ଜାତିର ପୂର୍ଣାଙ୍ଗ ଅଭ୍ୟୁଦୟ ସମ୍ବନ୍ଧରେ ନିଜର ଦର୍ଶନ ବିକଶିତ ହେବା ଆଗରୁ ସେ ଭାରତୀୟ ସ୍ୱାଧୀନତା ସଂଗ୍ରାମରେ ଯୋଗଦାନ କରି ସେ ଜଣେ ମହାନ ନେତା ହିସାବରେ ପରିଚିତ ହୋଇ ଅଛନ୍ତି। [୪] ସେ ସଶସ୍ତ୍ର ସଂଗ୍ରାମରେ ବିଶ୍ୱାସୀ ଥିଲେ ।
ଶ୍ରୀ ଅରବିନ୍ଦଙ୍କ ଦର୍ଶନର ମୂଳ ତତ୍ୱ ହେଉଛି ସାଧାରଣ ମାନବ ଜୀବନକୁ ଦିବ୍ୟ ଜୀବନରେ ରୂପାନ୍ତରଣ କରିବା । ସେ କହିଛନ୍ତି, ‘ମଣିଷ ହେଉଛି ଏକ ବିକାଶୋନ୍ମୁଖୀ ସତ୍ତା। ସେ ପୂର୍ଣ ବିକଶିତ ନୁହେଁ। ମାନସରୁ ଅତିମାନସ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ବିକାଶ ହେଉଛି ବିଶ୍ୱ ଚେତନା ଉତ୍ତରଣର ପରବର୍ତୀ ମାଇଲ ଖୁଣ୍ଟ । ଆଉ ଏହା ଅତି ଆବଶ୍ୟକ କାରଣ ଏହା ହେଉଛି ଅନ୍ତରାତ୍ମାର ମୂଳ ଉଦ୍ଦେଶ୍ୟ ଓ ନୈସର୍ଗିକ ନିୟମ।’ [୫] ଏହିପରି ଭାବରେ ଶ୍ରୀ ଅରବିନ୍ଦ ‘ମୁକ୍ତି’କୁ ଏକ ଭିନ୍ନ ରୂପରେ ପ୍ରତି ପାଦନ କରିଛନ୍ତି, ଯାହା ବୈୟକ୍ତିକ ନୁହେଁ ବରଂ ସାମଗ୍ରିକ, ସମ୍ପୂର୍ଣ ମାନବ ସମାଜର ଉତ୍ତରଣରେ ବିଶ୍ୱାସୀ।
ପ୍ରାଚ୍ୟ ଓ ପାଶ୍ଚାତ୍ୟ ଦର୍ଶନ, ଧର୍ମ, ସାହିତ୍ୟ ଓ ମନୋବିଜ୍ଞାନର ସମନ୍ୱୟ ଶ୍ରୀ ଅରବିନ୍ଦଙ୍କ ଲେଖାରେ ଦେଖିବାକୁ ମିଳେ। [୬] ଶ୍ରୀ ଅରବିନ୍ଦଙ୍କ କୃତି ଭିତରେ ଦର୍ଶନ, କାବ୍ୟ, ବେଦ, ଉପନିଷଦ ଏବଂ ଗୀତା ଆଦିର ଅନୁବାଦ ଓ ଟୀକା, ନାଟକ, ସାମାଜିକ, ରାଜନୈତିକ ଓ ଐତିହାସିକ ସମାଲୋଚନା, ଆଧ୍ୟାତ୍ମିକ ଲେଖା, ପତ୍ର ପତ୍ରିକା ଓ ପତ୍ରାବଳୀ ଆଦି ଅନ୍ତର୍ଭୁକ୍ତ। ତାଙ୍କର ସାହିତ୍ୟିକ ସୃଷ୍ଟି ଦର୍ଶନ, କାବ୍ୟ ଓ ନାଟକୀୟତାରେ ଏକ ମଧୁର ସମନ୍ୱୟରେ ସୁଗଠିତ ଯାହା କିଞ୍ଚିତ୍ ଜଟିଳ, ଓ ସହଜରେ ବୋଧଗମ୍ୟ ନୁହେଁ। ତାଙ୍କର କତିପୟ ରଚନା ବଳି ନିମ୍ନରେ ପ୍ରଦତ୍ତ ହେଲା।
